I love that I hate most of their biggest hits but LOVE LOVE LOVE lesser ones like Get Down, More Than That, The Call, The One... Those four always get me up and moving!

Get Down = soooo bad its amazing (the video is even worse yet somehow ends up being phenomenal, and don't get me started on the rap)
The Call = One of their best and should have been way bigger than it was
More Than That = One of my fave BSB Ballads and again it just didn't seem to do that well
The One = kinda indifferent to the song but I loved the tour montage video

I always wished 'Get Another Boyfriend' from Black and Blue was a single, Max Martin at his finest. Oooh and I always loved 'That's The Way I Like It' from Backstreet's Back.

All my love for BSB has really flooded back due to this thread.

This thread got me thinking about BSB's universal appeal and I remember seeing them live back in 2005 and it really was one of the most mixed audiences I have ever seen. Goths, 50 year old couples, groups of women/girls, men you name it.

As far as I'm aware, BSB never played any gay clubs. This is why I was surprised but pleased that they took part in San Francisco's pride parade and concert. I honestly had no indication until now how they felt about their gay fans.

When Stephen Gately came out they released a statement saying "He's still the same Stephen, we love him" blah blah blah.

You mean that UK thing. Don'tthing US pop acts do that/or did that ever. Ce Ce Penistin maybe.
Amen to that. I am always amazed when I read about pop groups playing G.A.Y in the UK - that would never work in the U.S. I swear Jeremy Joseph had his hand in breaking many artists in the U.K.

Yeah the UK market is completely different. Most of the male cast of Skins have done shoots with gay rags (has Zac Efron done anything at all for the gay press?)...JLS did a gay times cover etc for example. I think the difference is the church has bugger all influence in this country so you don't have to pander to that audience like you do in the US.

I don't think it is. They're recording a new album in September and October to be released January time to close the contract with Jive.
