Never Gone was/is an amazing album, i listened to it today actually in the car on the way home from work. I have the Inconsolable album but i've never actually managed to sit through an entire song of it.

They should have released Happily Never After before the Pussycat Dolls got there mucky hands all over it.

Ditto. While "Never Gone" wasn't amazing, there were some good songs and remixes that made them totally fun. Their last album was just blaaaahhhhh.

I KNOW! Their vocals are so good. It's such a pretty little melody.

"Helpless When She Smiles" was on the album of a "German Idol" runner-up first, before BSB recorded it and actually released it as a single. Kind of shows how low their status has fallen...

I definately think they could have a proper 'comeback' in quite a few countries with the right songs and image. Maybe not in the US, but definately in other places.

I really liked Never Gone but Unbreakable was just,... shit.

Oh, god, i had this song since summer and loved it to death. But seriously, BSB? Are they, like, still alive? Anybody cares?

I find it so rude that people are like "are they still alive?" "who cares?" etc. Can't you think of something more constructive to say?

Ok, good point. I'm just curious how they managed release 2 (or was it 3?) albums after comeback without any big hit.
And speaking constructively: 'Hologram' sang by BSB would be a murder. It's such a wrong sound for them.

Never Gone and Unbreakable are my two favourite Backstreet albums. I think of all the boy bands, the BSB have albums that are really consistent and you can play from start to finish without skipping any tracks. Plus none of their singles are cover versions- so it's not like an X Factor situation where we get the same old shit over and over again!

If BSB had recorded NKOTB's last album, they would be huge again. Here's hoping the new album has some decent tunes on it instead of the shit they gave us last time. "Inconsolable" was just awful.

Well according to Wikipedia it sounds like they may be trying to do something similar to the NKOTB most recent album. Working with people like Max Martin, Chris Brown, Ryan Tedder, RedOne, Rodney Jerkins, Polow da Don, Akon, Stargate, etc. If they're really working with these producers I think it could be a massive hit even here in the US. I think "Hologram" is a good sign... It's almost kinda Futuresex/Lovesounding

When they were on TRL last November, they're aged kind of showed. I admire their tenacity to want to keep recording, but I just don't have much of an interest in them, and I haven't since I was about, what, maybe eight or nine years old?

It's nothing groundbreaking!

Plods along quite nicely though. On first listen, doesn't sound like first single material. I'll wait to hear it in HQ before making my final judgement!

Boring. They need to ditch the guitars and give us an uptempo stomer... like the ones they used to make when people still gave a crap about them.

Does anybody really care about the Backstreet Boys anymore? They should really consider about changing their name.

They really ought to make the next album a mixed bag of different (attempts) at genres. Something a bit more pop-like but worthy of being played in a club. This is where they're largely going wrong.

I think they've largely become irrelevant as they haven't transitioned very well to pop/rock, but I think changing their name would be an even worse move.
