This is great! I’m still annoyed it wasn’t on the deluxe Viva reissue.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Terry Hall and only 63 too bless him.
Much respect for Terry Hall who was an original in every sense and of course we Bananarama fans have a lot to thank Terry Hall for as he was the one that spotted the girls in "The Face" magazine and got them their first big break.

RIP Terry Hall.

Ain’t What You Do and Really Sayin Something will always be in my top ten Bananarama songs.

In a sad coincidence, Bertha McNeal of the Velvelettes passed away a few days ago as well.

Very sad news. Terry was such an important figure in UK music scene and 63 is young in this day and age. The fact he was able to break ska into the top of the charts, break race boundaries being in a mixed group and most importantly giving Siobhan, Keren and Sara their big break he will be so fondly remembered.

I'm so gutted at this news. I have been a fan of Terry Hall for as long as I can remember and the shock of this has thrown me right back into the songs, which I've never been too far from anyway. He brought Bananarama to the mainstream, but that's only a small part of what he's left behind. The Specials, Fun Boy Three (my favourites), and The Colour Field. Goodness, it's all gold.

Preacher Man really deserved to smash, it's Top 5 Bananarama and successfully updated their sound for the 90s. They looked incredible too, Mesharama was such a lewk.
Agree - whilst it was good to see them back in the Top 20 the song is so catchy and was well promoted - seems they just got left behind as the 80s turned to the 90s which is a shame. I loved this line up too! Vamparama

Sadly many great 80s acts couldn't make the transition into the 90s despite the material being strong (see also Kim Wilde).

Love the artwork too, they just look so cool

I know - it was a strange time on Planet Pop with so many releasing bops whilst looking amazing yet facing diminished returns. I guess it happens at some point of all careers. And they’re still around today so any blips are just that in the bigger picture.

Two years ago, I published an issue of the Pop Life Fanzine, which was celebrating the 30th anniversary of "Preacher Man." I was able to ask a couple of questions to Sara, Keren, and Jacquie about it. They all answered. I even asked Keren about her iconic TOTP performance where she hits the microphone back to the perfect spot.

I just uploaded the PDF of that fanzine. You have 7 days to download it from the Poptastic Confessions blog. Just click the DOWNLOAD HERE part on this link ...
