Bananarama

I was thinking, they've performed virtually all their London era singles live at this point. The only ones missing;
The Wild Life, Hotline To Heaven, Do Not Disturb, Long Train Running, Tripping On Your Love and More, More, More.

Their Hampton Court Palace setlist;

I Heard A Rumour
Last Thing On My Mind
Movin' On
Forever Young
Shy Boy
Really Saying Something
Move In My Direction
Supernova
Cruel Summer
Looking For Someone
Only Your Love
Ain't What You Do
Nathan Jones
Preacher Man
Stuff Like That
I Want You Back
Look On The Floor
Robert DeNiro's Waiting
Love In The First Degree
You Spin Me/ Venus
Kiss Him Goodbye

You'd think Long train running and More more more could be placed in a festival set, maybe as part of a covers medley or something at the very least? They're very well known songs the casuals would love.

They hate Do not disturb so that'll never happen and Hotline and Trippin' are just too much of a flop for the kind of shows they play.

Something special for this Friday!

A mash up of 1987's Some Girls from WOW! and Some Boys from the deluxe reissue of Pop Life. It works so well! And potentially brings all 4 BANANAS together on one single (though I am still dubious as to whether there are any Siobhan vocals on the WOW! album tracks outside the singles and Come Back... but that's another debate).

ENJOY!

Interesting theory, but if sound, why do their duo vocals on Please yourself sound so much...less? I love Duorama now but they were still very much finding their way then and SW didn't really beef up their vocals. I suspect Shuv just did the bare minimum and S&K were happy to stick around and do adlibs (and solos!).

If you isolate the leads there isn’t much difference. I think it’s the BVs that made the PY sessions sound so different… Siobhan (and latterly Jacquie) definitely had the more unique voices and I just cannot hear Siobhan outside of the singles and Come Back…. Maybe I’m wrong. Anyway - maybe this mashup does bring all 4 together if she did sing on Some Girls. You can certainly hear Dame Jacquie doing the heavy lifting on Some Boys!

Some boys is...not Some girls! SAW definitely knew how to deliver! A good mash up though!
