BEYONCÉ - act i RENAISSANCE

I hear new details in literally every song on this album.... every time I play any of them. I don't think I have mutant ears like many on this site but this album makes me believe that I do.

I was literally cleaning my house this weekend (after playing this album very single day all the way through several times since release) discovering some new vocal moments and flourishes on a few tracks I had never heard before, and I don't want to be extra but...I actually teared up?

She PACKED each and every one of these tracks with layers, details, and moments. Aurally its so fucking exciting to hear an artist use every trick in the bag, it gives me goosebumps. I absolutely believe this will be a defining record of this decade, at this point.

Been rewatching all the B'Day videos while waiting for these gawddamn vizhuwals.

The B'Day videos were shot in a very short timeframe and it seems like they weren't on huge budgets but she sells the shit out of them.

She's an absolute goddess in the black PVC catsuits. I love Brunette Beyonce.

Yeah, I think they were done in a week’s time with not a lot of prep work. I actually think a lot of her visuals are pretty simple, but that’s also why they’re so effective. They don’t do too much.

‘Move’ makes me laugh every time I listen. I love it so much. Hook after hook after hook. The first part of the song being this aggressive, pitch black rush of dominance and dramatics, only to suddenly have this warm, summery synth draped over it and changing the vibe entirely into something much sweeter. There’s a sense of humor, or a playfulness, to her approach on all of these songs that I genuinely appreciate.
This is what I love so much about Move, it's like the song is thawing during its runtime. It's absolutely ferocious and ice-cold when it starts, then it slowly warms up and melts into a gorgeous summer jam, and then transitions into... Heated.

Her goddamn mind, it amazes me.

It could mean nothing since she still has a home and a Parkwood office in NYC, but she was spotted there this weekend. VMAs performance on the way? She’s performed there for all 6 of her studio albums that preceded renaissance and has been nominated and attended the show since she was a teenager.

Maybe, but she went to the MJ musical with Tina and J.

Could Mama Tina be there for the styling/costume? As far as I know, she still makes a lot of Beyonce's stage costumes, especially for big/significant/special events.
