Bey’s smooth and laser sharp harmonies sprinkled over a classic 90’s house beat? A fierce rap verse? Finish it all off with a gospel choir? I love this. The very straight forward beat actually gives the song room to breathe and let’s the attention to detail shine through. There are a lot of details to both production and melodies in this song that rewards you upon repeated listens. And yes it’s the only thing I’ve been listening to for 30 minutes.
A song about quitting jobs and building new foundations on the day im quitting my job to build new foundations??? Yesterday I was really emotional about leaving my long term job so did some affirmation work for my younger self and build confidence in my decisions. Basically... I summoned this song and you are all very welcome. X
This is excellent. On first listen it sounded quite basic but it really opens up on repeat listens. The Chromatica comparisons are weird.
It's both so simple and much more complex than you think. What a woman! It's not what I expected from her a month ago but exactly what I needed.
I am kinda fucking quivering at this! Such a left-field turn for her. I love how she never goes where you think she’s gonna go. This is massive.
She really said "I'm back and I'm gonna show all these bitches how it's done!". The amount of hooks on hooks is staggering. YOU WON'T BREAK MY SOOOOuuuuL!
