Beyoncé talking in interview form? Wow, it really is a special day. Also when she mentioned Blue being taller than her she showed some of the personality she had in earlier interviews. I loved that.

She truly deserved it, and it’s long overdue. That said, I think she’s been overlooked for better albums (by all rights, this should be at least her third win in the category but that’s another story for another day) but what this whole record has done for breaking down the barriers in country music, and more specifically for black women in country, means the reward was worth the wait. Her artistry is moving into new realms of using her status to gain advocacy for others, and it’s paying off.
