BEYONCÉ - RENAISSANCE World Tour 2023

I don't know, I think the cut section being seemingly gone forever does seem to highlight the faint issues with the setlist to begin with, where the committment to taking us through the journey of the album is kinda lost a bit with a chunk of it gone. It also deprives the setlist of a massive catalogue hit crowd pleaser in the process (and an interlude full of them!), which... it could use considering the show dips into a lot of album-heavy sections, and the old songs are predominently a touch self-indulgent.

I say all that with love! It's still a stupendous 10/10 show and if anything as a hardcore fan all the self-indulgent choices make it even better for me, but... I still think Lemonade edges this just as a ridiculously tight, untouchable pop stadium show, whereas this just has joy and light leaking from every pore.

I think I'm That Girl - Cozy - Alien have to flow into each other, but there's a world in which some more hits live between the rest of the tracks. I don't think it necessarily bothers most people, and I always think people are ridiculous for not checking setlists before the shows, but it would help for sure. Once Crazy is over, all the locals have for the last third of the show is half of Naughty Girl and snippets of the other hits at the end of Virgo/interludes. Throw in Drunk and squeeze in another hit and those complaints would easily disappear - and hopefully she'd perform around the circle a couple of more times for the GA gerls.

I think the show is perfect as a stan, but in terms of audience response, that's just the tweaks I'd make.

My only real issue with the show setlist was closing with Summer Renaissance, it’s not a bad song and it obviously makes sense to close with it, but if she had done Summer Renaissance and then an encore of Drunk In Love (Dubai version) it would’ve gone off.

Also Summer Renaissance daily streams are pretty bad considering it’s the shows closer, which kind of goes with the theory it’s a bad closer.

I love Drunk In Love, but I also think there could be alot of dissonance of doing a Tina Turner tribute and then later performing a song that has Jay-z using Tina's abuse as a punch line. Obviously the rap is left off in recent performances either way, and in the moment the crowd would go wild. But I do think there would be extra discourse which she might not want.

I haven't seen the show in person. But I also think the energy in the states is going to be very different.
I can imagine songs like Savage, Before I Let Go, and Heated getting even more love and keeping the energy up/more consistent.

The atmosphere at the Tottenham stadium really didn't let up between I'm That Girl and Crazy In Love. Even the lesser known songs like Rather Die Young, Black Parade and My Power got a great reception - I think adding Blue Ivy as a dancer on the latter two really helps keep the vibe up.

I do think the ending is a bit disappointing though and adding Drunk In Love (Dubai version) would really help round the evening off, but it is a 9.5/10 show as it is. Near-enough relentless Energy.mp3.

I both hate and love the staging of Summer Renaissance. I don’t overly love it when artists do aerial tricks for the wow factor. For me it just sucks all the energy out of the performance and song. Same issue when I saw Dua and she was in the basket for Levitating. It quickly gets dull, no matter how pretty the flying device used.

I guess it depends if they were fully aware of the set list before their show date. I feel like it was common knowledges among stans that she does that mash up with Sweet Dreams but for non stans it who didn’t think to look at the set list it could be a genuine surprise.

I'll echo the sentiment of needing just another crowd pleaser or two to really elevate the experience, maybe keeping Drunk in Love and actually doing Sweet Dreams in that bit. I don't mind the lack of singles, but when you have the entire audience stood still, jaw dropped for 3 hours, it could use a few additional moments of release where people can dance and sing along.

I don’t think so? Some people in the quotes posted them getting it wrong too dd plus it’s a well loved song so I wouldn’t be surprised.
I don't doubt that but there is not a single genuine filmed reaction in any of those clips.

Anyway, I'm still kicking myself for selling my second set of tickets because I've not been able to listen to or think about anything since. She is just incredible.
