The Season is the first to be hosted by @beyoncésweave and will feature ten stunning, provocative rounds.
“I see likes,” says @beyoncésweave about her decision to host the Top Answer Game. “It’s more than just the little yellow notifications. When I’m connected to something, I immediately see a like or a series of likes that are tied to a feeling or an emotion, a repressed memory from my childhood, thoughts about revenge, my success or my sexual fantasies. And they’re all connected to the likes.”
That the season is available on the day the forum is learning about its release is an unprecedented strategic move by @beyoncésweave to deliver content directly to her fans when she wants to and how she wants to, with no filter. This unique approach allows fans to be the first to hyperventilate, cheat and form their own corrosive doubts void of any middlewoman. “I didn’t want to release my work the way I’ve done it,” she states. “I am bored with that. I feel like I am able to speak directly to my fans. There’s so much that gets between the likes, the artist and the fans. I felt like I didn’t want anybody to give the message when my project is coming out. I just want this to come out when it’s ready and from me to my fans.”
Stripped of gimmicks, teasers and marketing campaigns, this project is truly about art before hype. “After two seasons of declining ratings and viewer engagement, not to mention the departure of numerous high profile cast members, we felt like it was time for someone innovative and forward-thinking to take over and revitalise the game. @beyoncésweave, wearing multiple hats as writer, producer and director, put together a genius team of artists, trolls, moderators, songwriters, banned members, redditors, bots, producers and video directors for her visual season, including herself.
She recorded all over the world for a year and a half but the initial recording started after the writers, moderators and producers gathered under one roof on Waiheke Island, New Zealand’s creative enclave, in the summer of 2017 to kii together, drag together and to immerse themselves into her world and into her head. The fans that have grown up with the artist, immature and daft enough to not relate to the content and the shared experiences, inspire the Top Answer Game this season, with themes that explore hate, loss, fear, indecision, anger, unhappiness, low self-esteem and sexual confusion.

For the rounds, all of which she wrote, she preferred to work with a more carefree formula. Created on tour primarily during her massively successful Sugababes Discography Rate, the rounds were veiled in secrecy, even though they were crafted in open places, including Random Thoughts, the Relationships thread, the Comeback Corner, the Glory thread, Forum Business, the MKS threads and the K-Pop subforum. She mixed up the creative, going for big and small and set out during the brainstorming of rounds eager to capture the spontaneity and dishonesty in every moment. The rounds are visually stimulating, charged with visionary cinematography and shady storytelling. They capture every side of who she is, complete with her invulnerability and perfections.
BEYONCÉSWEAVE is an explosive communiqué to fans from an artist who has earned the right to do things on her terms. “I just want to give my season to the people I love and disrespect and hope that they feel the same thing I felt when I made it,” said @beyoncésweave, “despair.”
