This really went out on a high - the writing and the humour bowed out on top form.
I agree than Jon Pointing was exceptional as Danny. He really played the role with so much warmth and subtlety - I hope he (and the show) collect some awards.

I also like all the characters, it’s a pretty perfect little 18 episode time capsule and I’ll definitely rewatch in future…

I binged season 3 last night and I honestly can’t praise this show enough. I didn’t see that ending coming until the penultimate episode, but I appreciate that it was never really a secret. I know a bunch of you spotted the signs way earlier. I’m glad it wasn’t turned into a shock twist as that would’ve cheapened it. As it was it was beautiful. The final episode’s “what could have been” ending was perfect. This is one of the best-written, best-acted shows I’ve watched in years.

After discovering this show just weeks ago and binging through 2 seasons over 2 nights, only to discover S3 was airing at the same time, I was so ecstatic to watch it all so close together.
Even though I could see what was going to come back in S1 due to the narration always speaking in past tense, I was not prepared to be so heartbroken.
It's now solidified itself as one of my fave shows of all time. Absolutely brilliant.

There's a lot to be said for a show that still hits so strongly even when its direction of travel has been clear for a while. It was perfectly done.
There so many little touches throughout and it was a beautiful send off to the show. As others have said, huge, huge, props to the actor who played Danny. A brilliant performance.
