BIG POP GIRLS 2022 - THE END

I definitely understand not wanting to include the whole Aguilera album, though it did surprise me there weren't a couple of songs from it in the highlights section. Oh well, Pa Mis Muchachas will always be a smash in my heart.

On the other hand I'm glad abcdefu is nowhere in sight. We didn't need another song competing for last place.

The Weeknd still not being considered a BPG doesn't sit well with me. Fantastic selection of albums though.
The reason I didn't include The Weeknd, despite him falling under a lot of the criteria, simply comes down to him being a man. After Hours and Dawn FM have felt like key moments in pop music. "Blinding Lights" is one of the biggest songs of the last five years, if not the biggest. The success is undeniable, but it becomes a slippery slope.. If I include The Weeknd, then I have to include Harry Styles, who had inarguably one of the biggest albums and singles of 2022 with Harry's House and "As It Was". These were bigger than anything The Weeknd did this year. I'd also have to include Bad Bunny's Un Verano Sin Ti as well, which was the biggest album this year by miles. It just leaves us without much room for other successful female pop albums. It's the same reason I didn't include Lil Nas X's album last year, despite having the incredible success it had.

I was just making a silly joke because we sometimes call The Weeknd a "BPG" in his thread and recognize that – just like Lil Nas X and Bad Bunny – Abel does the BPG thing just as well as some PopJustice-certified BPGs: delivering an era with a fantastic and massive pop album, big singles, visuals that build a universe and narrative around the music, memorable performances, an overly ambitious tour and a couple of high profile collaborations (he does appear in this rate with "LA FAMA" so I'll take this as a win). I did not expect Dawn FM to be included in this rate. Of course he's not a Big Pop Girl.

I apologize if my comment felt out of place and/or was awkwardly phrased. I had no intention to imply that a male artist's work should be included in this rate over a female artist's one. I value this rate – and forum – for being a place where music made by women is celebrated, especially when music publications and the industry in general tend to not give them the platform, recognition or attention they deserve.

Me, confident that Beyoncé has released the album of the year, once again, and will snatch her first BPG win since PARTITION?!

Me releasing that she, once again, has released a fully excellent body of work where everyone has a different favourite song and that we can never unionise to take her to the top despite always having the best album average.

Hive, we need coordinated action for our 11s. It's the only way.

Considering giving my 11 to “PLASTIC OFF THE SOFA” to balance out all you untalented who will inevitably underscore it.

these one right after the other...sorry to @Ensnare...

This GIF ;cdknvfkldnbksn. I did have "TV" and "The 30th" in the extras list up until the last minute, but I sat down and made myself suffer through her Zane Lowe interview where she spoke about the songs. She pretty much alluded that these songs are going to go on an album, but didn't want to wait until that album was ready to release them. They'll be included whenever Billie drops the next album (and if she doesn't include them, I'll tag them on hehe).
Oh I'm not a Little Eyelash I was just expressing that most of these songs suck kfdjlafdkJLKADFJ
