BIG POP GIRLS 2022 - THE END

I do think Carolina suffered a little bit due to people with Taylor fatigue who had to rate another Taylor song (at the end of a long list of bad extras). It’s certainly no 10 or 9 for me, but I do think it’s much better than a lot of Midnights.

Carolina is a nicer song than a good half of Midnights but I was feeling that Taylor fatigue by the time I got around to hearing it which probably impacted it’s score.

One of the better Swift songs in the rate. I enjoy the atmosphere and mood the song creates. However, I can acknowledge that it's a bit snoozey though, which is why it only got a grade in 7 range from me.

Carolina's nice, but it's... boring to me. And that's coming from someone who loves folklore and enjoys evermore. I've listened to it numerous times and I still couldn't tell you how it goes and that's one of the biggest crimes in music to commit for me.

Also, I'm loving the fact Charli went by under the radar and now everyone's got her eye on her.

Relistening to CRASH and I'm bopping all over again.

This is so boring. It is mind-boggling why this was in the main album - especially when there are far better songs on the deluxe edition. This and "Vigilante Shit" are the worst songs on the album, easily, so I'm glad to see both gone now. Much like "Vigilante Shit", I always skip this.

This song was written by Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn. Out of all the songs they've written together, this is by far, my least favourite. It really doesn't hold a candle to "exile" or "betty", which is a shame. I think this is my biggest disappointment in the album, since everything else the two have done together is really solid.

I think there's some good here - the melody is catchy - but as a whole, it's really boring. It just feels like Taylor felt that the album needed an obligatory ballad and came up with this on the spot.

This hasn't been performed live and I beg that it's not on The Eras Tour, so I leave you with one of Taylor's better ballads.

My second lowest score for Midnights at 6.5, so the average that Sweet Nothing ended up getting is spot on. But then I think about the 30 songs that I scored lower than this and that are still in the running... Madness.

Carolina deserved an 8+ average but this is a good placement for Sweet Nothing. One of my least favorite songs from Midnights which is a bummer because I liked the LQ snippet that leaked hours before the album. It's just a bunch of nothing and does nothing for me.

Much like the previous song eliminated, this song has the bones of brilliance but loses it. The production is great - a bit Lana-esque if I may say - and the verses are really solid. It's this weird, guitar-led produced song, but it's also got a lil' beat behind it that kicks the song in gear. I think it's really, really solid in that regard. The verses are also really on note with the production, matching its groove brilliantly.

The problem here is the boring ass chorus that really fucks it up. It's just so expected, a bit clunky and doesn't quite hit the mark in comparison to everything else. I do really like the way she goes on a higher register for the second chorus, it's a bit of a surprise and it really works. If the rest of the chorus had been like that, I think it would've been more interesting.

As far as the 3am tracks, this is better than others, like "Bigger Than The Whole Sky", "Dear Reader" and maybe "The Great War"... Yeah... I fear this should've left a biT later, but the scores for Taylor this rate were all over the place. Some people really connected with the 3am tracks and hated the rest of the album and others did exactly the opposite. There wasn't really an in-between.

I guess the song was inspired by this literal glitch that happened in one of her TikTok's. I would embed it, but YouTube Shorts are a pain in the ass.
