2 Be Loved (Am I Ready) is a bop and a half and I adore @Jonathan27 for giving it his 11 and preaching to the choir with that essay.

I just listened to it while I was reading the write-up and I had a bit of a moment to it, so I guess some songs could have gone before it.


I actually wouldn't mind losing a Beyoncé song or two, but I totally get why everything's still intact from the album as it was the pop moment of 2022.

I guess some participants just sniffed their poppers a little too hard and overscored CRASH as a result.

2 Be Loved (Am I Ready) is such a happy rush. I remember singing it while cycling in Amsterdam, getting ready for Pride and will always have that wonderful and joyous memory with my best friend. That’s why we play it a lot. It always comes up any Daily Mix I put on on Spotify.

It definitely has some of the Max Martin magic and I think I hear him on the background vocals too? *check notes* couldn’t find notes but I just hear him!
Also Savan Kotecha is credited, just magic. It does remind me a tad of Into You.

I think if I'd been rating the albums now, Karma would have been among my top tracks on the album, it's fully immersed in its own ridiculousness and the production's a blast. I've not been bothered by many of the eliminations before the top 40 but that, Lavender Haze and Beg For You stand out as too early for me.
