This song is... f;dlkbmflkgdmbf. I don't really know where to even begin.
I'm not too well versed with electronic music's many genres, I'm sure I'll be schooled by someone in the thread later, but this is part of a style called "deconstructed club" or "post-club" music. It's essentially a genre which clashes abrasive tones and steers away from classic "club" music. In Latin American music, Arca's oeuvre is considered to be part of this style of electronic music. On a side note, I'm Venezuelan and don't really find a lot of pride in that. I think I have a long story with my national identity and the state of my country (and all the questions that come with it) that I don't like talking about it. However, artists like Arca who are Venezuelan and embrace that have shifted my perception on that. It's just really cool to have someone like Arca be at the forefront of Venezuelan's experimental music scene. In the cover art for "KLK", her collaboration with Rosalia and also another "deconstructed club" song, she's pridefully holding the Venezuelan flag.
To put all of that into one, concise statement, this song is literally this:
There's so many facets to what's going on in "CUUUUuuuuuute". On one end, the song is this manic drums, loud whistles, smash your taint to the floor beat with non-sensical lyrics. On the other side, it's a ballad with soaring Kate Bush vocals. The intro has her serving her best impression of a Twin Peaks episode where the characters are stuck in the red room. The beat then smacks you in the ass and pulls you in. The way her vocals are produced then go into Alvin and The Chipmunks territory. Only for them to collapse and fall into a ballad. It goes quiet, just Rosalia's voice... which then is split and explodes into her literally reciting the alphabet at times.
Rosalia's openly stated that she wanted to create an album that sounded like nothing she's heard before. I would genuinely want someone to point me in something that is this batshit crazy, fighting total opposites at all times and yet... it smacks.
@BEST FICTION, who gave this their 11, drags Charli in the process of stanning this song: "This song is so insane, it makes me want to get in a car and crash into a pole at 100kpm like Madonna in the "What It Feels Like for a Girl" music video. Charli XCX wishes she had that impact with Crash!"

This song is for the beautiful, pretty, pretentious girls who made Kala their personality in 2007. Mmhmm!
Hmm like I said before, I would've preferred something else from Motomami to leave instead of this. I hadn't listened to the album prior to the rate, but ended up quite liking this song in its glorious messiness. I gave this a 7; in hindsight an 8 would've been more accurate.
