I guess when you're the size of a Borrower you do what you have to do but those
shoes, mama,
Christ. One misstep, one corner of a table, and bam. TWO broken ankles.
Anyway, so, regrettably I have only
just been informed that I don't have to lie to gerls. If that's the case, I have wasted a
lot of time on here, I'll tell ya that much! This score and placement, however, is the truth, as verified by my sometimes esteemed cohosts. It seems to have been the expected first elimination from Short 'n' Sweet, but it wound up outranking two other tracks thanks to not having any zeroes.
I haven't delved deep into Sabrina Lore but it does seem, from a little research, that she has a fraught relationship with her father - probably why her mother and sisters (she's the youngest of four girls) merit mention in the song. That alone gives this track a bit more heft from the usual 'he's a cute boy but he's a
liar' schtick that litters Spotify playlists. But with Sabrina's good, but airy, tone, she's not going to be able to do the diva-down vocals of a true anthem. Instead, the angle is subtlety - like when someone whispers during a fight instead of yelling. Effective, yes, but not the type of track that gets 10s thrown at it.
