BIG POP GIRLS 2024

Sigh. I actually love Sharpest Tool. Julia Michaels reheated her own nachos for it but at least it was when her nachos were good.

Edit: just kidding this wasn’t one of the Julia Michaels co-writes, ignore me.

To be clear, I'm a casual fan of Taylor's music and my scores were actually very moderate for the album (ranging from 4 to 9.25) and I appreciate that the Swifties on this forum are generally self-aware and nuanced in both their defence and critiques of the album.

Hell, I've lost some tracks from TTPD that I gave 8s to, but ultimately I would only be up in arms about
How Did It End?, The Prophecy and maybe So Long London exiting soon, because the whole project left a stank that I can't shake.

Sharpest Tool got a 5 from me so I'm not bothered by it's loss. Short N Sweet is my least favourite album here but does have some very good songs that I will continue to listen to. My lowest Taylor score was 5 (Fresh Out the Slammer, The Alchemy and thanK You AIMee) and my highest was 10.

Ouch, losing two clear 10s back to back from TTPD hurts. Fresh Out The Slammer and The Bolter are both fantastic.

These cuts are so random. While the averages aren’t too bad, it’s clear lots of you just punished Taylor for having a long album of mostly slow to mid tempos. And sure, that’s your right to do so, but we’re supposed to be rating songs individually. The majority of the songs are actually brilliant - at least the write ups give the songs the credit they deserve.

It’s interesting that the other songs eliminated recently don’t have near the same amount of 10s Taylor’s songs are getting.

Sigh.

I’ve no strong feelings about Sharpest Tool whatsoever though, bye. Sabrina’s album truly was half killer, half filler.
