I may be a first-time host, but I’m a long-time participant as an elderly forum member.
My biggest piece of advice when scoring would be to do it on a spreadsheet of your own. Take your time, do your scores, and then once finished, sort your scores from best to worst (or vice versa) to see how songs from different albums stack up equivalently to one another.
The number one error that crops up year after year is that people often throw a 10 to the best song on an album, because they’re listening only within the context of the album itself. Sometimes, the best song on an album can still be worse than the worst song on another! If that artist’s best song this year only deserves a 7.75, so be it!
Once you’ve got to a point where you’re happy that you like all your 6.5s and 8s on pretty much the same level as one another, you’re good to go. For me, I only give out 10s to songs I’d be happy with winning, and choose my 11 from that set as the one I actually want to win.
As for your 0… it’s probably fairly likely you know what that’ll be already.
