Billie Eilish - HIT ME HARD AND SOFT

It’s a rework of “True Blue” and “Born Blue”. The latter was a leftover from the last album.

Thank you! That explains it.

This album is very unique. Like an album beautifully put together with some full songs and some medleys, a masterful blend of her debut and ''Happier than Ever'' and she sounds so great and confident and playful in every single song.

''The DIner'' owns me, at the moment.

I'm only on my first listen, but so far everything sounds absolutely delicious. Her vocals are fantastic and the production is just outstanding. I always thought Cowboy Carter would be firmly placed as my album of the year, but we are being spoiled with fantastic music this year so maybe this will take the first spot with repeated listens.

The thing I appreciate about Billie and her brother is that they have carved out such a specific sound for Billie as an artist while also always exploring new ground on every album. I mean, Happier Than Ever was such a stunning body of work that really took her artistry to new heights. And now we're only on her THIRD album and she gives us this? We're so bless to have an artist like her. To continue my ramblings, I haven't even touched the lyrics yet. She's actually always been a very great lyricist, and I can't wait to get to know the lyrics on this album. I'm so impressed and happy. She really did the right decision to not give us any singles, this is meant to be heard together as a complete body of work the first time.

Yeah, it weirdly feels like all her projects in one. The first half of the album has the sunny vibe of songs like “Bellyache”, while the second half has the eerie, murky atmosphere of When We All Fall Asleep… and it’s all topped off with the experimentation and jazz stylings of Happier Than Ever.

I love the album, I have only tiny complaint, that you really have to read lyrics to understand most of what she is singing about, she either mumbles or sounds too quiet - I think last album was more clearer in that regard. But I agree, its not an instant thing, it is a grower, I can understand why some might not like it and it makes sense why it didn't have singles before.

Finneas has outdone himself, shame his music isn't as exciting as this, the songs before his debut are much better than what he put on the album.

This album is everything I wanted from her and more. Genuinely an instant album of year from me, it is stunning. Everything is so lush, detailed and immersive. I cannot wait to rinse this for the rest of spring.
