Billie Eilish - HIT ME HARD AND SOFT

The fucking synths in Chihiro taking me on an interstellar journey every time I listen.

I’m always obsessed when she weaves in her own track titles/lyrics into songs, like she does on “goodbye” and “NDA”. “Bittersuite” and “Blue” take that to another level, though, and it’s already wild enough that “Blue” is two unreleased songs from 2016 and 2021 put together, but then adding the album’s “theme” song, other lyrics and samples from tracks that preceded it in order to tie it all together as the finale… truly insane. Self referencing like that can easily be cringe, but she pulls it off every time.

Holy shit. In addition to my above post, the same basically applies for all tracks.
They're definitely all revealing themselves now and my god... This is a masterpiece.

I did not have a Billie Eilish album being my AOTY on my bingo card this year!

Who can provide and then subsequently laminate my Stan card asap?

I know i said this before, but BLUE is seriously the crown jewel for me here, its the whole album summed up in one track. The whole collection has been on repeat but I’m always very excited to hear BLUE again. I love how the back half morphs into those strings.

Its giving shades of lana del rey, a big blockbuster “sad song”. Just dripping in drama, with production that takes you on a ride. Her voice has so much warmth and texture all over this.

The massive display for this album at all the Target stores around me (more than a dozen) is empty, like every copy CD and vinyl, is sold out. Insane.

Yep same at mine, I wanted a seedee copy while I ran in for some things last night but had to order it online. My record shop let me go ahead and pay for one of the indie exclusive vinyls (they didn’t get their shipment). She’s got my ass with this album, I’m obsessed.

Casual fan here, so excuse the question, but has she ever worked with anyone else other than her brother? His production is so good.
