Billie Eilish - HIT ME HARD AND SOFT

She’s released a Sped/Slowed version of the album to her website. Is it even close enough for this to juice enough sales to propel it to #1?

I really don't like this move. It's official: charts are just a fandom thing. Who is interested in buying a spe up/slowed version of your album ? Only fans. It just looks like she (like modern singers, not just Billie) doen't even care about general public. I care about my fans, I rely only on my fans. Taylor is obviously the best at relying on her fans, because when you sell 20-30 different formats of your album on release week and you add 3-4 new formats a couple of weeks later it's because you're selling them all to your fans.
I don't like the mastering, but Billie's album is interesting and good, she does seem to have a vision and I understand she wants a #1 album, but... ok, she's young. whatever!

To be fair, slowed, sped up, and reverb mixes have been a thing for years. They're popular on TikTok for a reason. And the numbers on some of those YouTube uploads would surprise you. Definitely not just a stan thing. Same goes for the isolated vocals. It opens the album up to a whole bunch of people who might want to remix, etc.

ok, they may use it on a tik tok video or to make a remix. I don't think you need to buy it to use it on tiktok, tho'. anyway, I'm hapy if this is what she's looking for.

I'm saying they aren't just used for TikTok. These types of mixes have been around since well before that. People actually listen to them. My little sister does, as horrifying as it sounds.

This has 47 million views

20 million

39 million, etc.

Hm, she’s been on the verge of mentioning something for the last two Stationhead streams she’s appeared in. I think it was the day before yesterday where she was talking about stuff that was coming up (“Chihiro” video, etc) and then she stopped herself.

I’m another one who hasn’t really listened to much of her music before outside a couple of listens of a couple of singles.

However, after reading everyone’s great comments here I decided to have a listen earlier and I love it all! I’ve listened 3 times today now. The production is so rich and I love how the songs take interesting twists and turns and how Billie uses her voice throughout. An album!
