She listens to bops but channels it into her experimental ways. It’s her thing at this point, and I love her all the more for it.
Yeah, at this point the dichotomy of Björk listening to Kelis and Vengaboys in her spare time vs. making something like Fossora (and describing it as "rave inspired") is fascinating to me.
I love the house influence on Debut and to a lesser extent Post, and if she wanted to do more of that, not only would I not complain, but there are several viable collaborative paths she could take - someone like Nina Kraviz would probably gel with her creatively. But more than bjöps, I find myself wishing the most for her to revisit the sound of something like
Play Dead through a modern lens. I think, ironically, it'd be
more of an experiment for her nowadays.
Overall, though, I'm down for whatever from her and grateful
grapefruit that she still feels the urge to not only create but share it with us.
