Björk - Fossora

It was the same Orchestral as always just with drones. So that's the only special thing about it.

Judging by the pictures I saw it was pretty empty sadly?
Yup - it felt like the same Bjork show I saw at Royal Albert Hall in 2016 (minus some Vulnicura/plus some Fossora) - it even opened and ended with the same tracks I’m sure (yes that string frenzied Pluto is great…). It felt pretty lazy to me - I didn’t realise the Orchestral is just the on-going rebranded Strings. With this, and Cornucopia, it doesn’t feel like things are really evolving as they once did in Björkland. Crowd at Coachella was pretty busy but lots leaving after first few tracks.

8 songs are the same as in the show you saw, yes.

Don't forget she is not extensively touring all the time. She also varied it massively for Utopia shows and also constructed the most elaborated Björk show ever, Cornucopia - the complete opposite to what Orchestral.

Kind of annoying for people following her closely and the strings shows since Vulnicura dropped really weren't that varied. But overall she is switching things up if you go to different tours. Orchestral would have died 2021 without Corona, I think.

I do not think it was the best idea to bring a string production to Coachella.

Not Björk catching strays because Frank invited her to open for him at Coachella and probably had a say in pulling her set from livestreaming on Youtube too.

I had tickets and then returned them because of scheduling conflicts. Real ones, not fantasy production issues. Because last time I checked, a third of the tickets of all shows combined had been sold, if at all. Cornucopia is to big of a production to have it playing to empty venues. And I guess reducing it to one or two shows also wouldn't have helped break even.

I have not been following what’s going on but I’m confused. Are you saying Björk is not able to sell out three shows in Iceland? Why is that?

Yeah, they flopped. Expensive tickets, she only played a couple of years ago which most locals who'd want to see her probably went to, also likely overestimated the amount of Little Fagurts who'd fly in for it from other countries given she's already touring later in the year, etc.

A couple years ago? She had four shows just last year spanning her whole career!

Plus high prices plus extended Europe tour plus it's a show she was touring 2019 already plus cost of living crisis. So demand seems to be on a record low.

Where’s the “warmth,” Bjork?
It's "thankfulness and grace" now, keep up
