Björk - Fossora

Yesterday night I saw cornucopia in Milan. Very little space is given to Fossora. I know many people will probably love Cornucopia but I totally hated it. This was my fourth time seeing her live and I was overwhelmed by how much I disliked the show. I found the visuals repetitive, the use of curtains totally killing the live experience and the physical presence of the performers on stage, the set list very monotonous and at least from where I was sitting, bad audio. I will always give Bjork a chance but this was the worst concert of my life. I was sitting quite close to the stage but lateral and that is really not a good position (and very expensive)The performance is very visual and strangely close to seeing a digital projection. This show despite her insistence not to use phones during the performance (that I support) works much better on screen. Overall I think this is a very self indulgent piece of work only apparently creative.

Went to the same show but couldn't disagree more. Maybe it's because it was my first Bjork concert after being a fan for 9 years, but it was one of the best live experiences in my life. I found it extremely impactful and emotional, I was getting shivers and tearing up all the way through, which turned into full-on crying from Victimhood onwards (for whatever reason).

I get it was very Utopia (and flute) heavy, but given the circumstances it's quite expected. Surprisingly, the songs that impressed me the most were the ones I wouldn't consider personal favourites (Show Me Forgiveness, The Gate, Arisen My Senses, Blissing Me), they really came to life in that setting. I also liked the way the setlist was organized, it felt like watching a story unfold, with the lighter, airy part first, followed by a heavier tone in the second half. I wish she had included Freefall in somewhere, even though I don't know where exactly.

Overall it was a very unique experience, which felt more art exhibition than concert, but with all of the emotional impact of the latter. I'd been waiting for it for so long and it didn't disappoint one bit. And apart from a couple high notes, she sounded fantastic from start to finish (especially those lows in Show Me Forgiveness).

Ready to stream so the Icelandic Wildlife Fund can get my £0.001
