Can someone explain to me why the album at Target costs $48?! I thought maybe because shipping prices are crazy or whatever but the new Twice album was $25 and probably has double the tracks, like what even. I passed because I watched unboxing videos and the photobooks were disappointing, its the same outfit in the same set for 20 photos per girl :(

A pretty controversial opinion, but of the four 'clone songs' I much prefer Pink Venom and Kill This Love to DDUx4 and How You Like That.

Pink Venom is repugnant, but Shut Down is THAT girl. I love it so much, the violin throughout just eats and eats and sounds amazing against the hard trap drums, the girls sound fantastic and the raps are coherent and relevant. 10/10

I don’t like this album, girls. And I’m really bummed about it dddd. I didn’t want to dump on the party on release day but I’ve barely been able to get through a full second listen. Shut Down is … bad in the way that people pretended Pink Venom was (whereas Pink Venom is an actual smasher). All the songs are too short but I don’t actually like them enough to want them to be longer?? I don’t know. I actually want to Stockholm Syndrome myself into liking this because I’ve been waiting too long and like them too much for these feelings.

But I’ll end on a positive - Yeah Yeah Yeah is genuinely great.

I just listened to the album, and yeah... it's decent, but given the time they take between releases, it'd be nice the albums felt more like proper bodies of work that were worth the wait and felt more uniquely BLACKPINK rather than a collection of pretty anonymous songs that mostly sound like they could have been released by a number of other artists. Like, I bet Bekuh Boom wrote Typa Girl with AleXa in mind, The Happiest Girl is literally a Natalia Kills song, Tally could just as easily have been released by Noah Cyrus or something. It's just disappointing waiting two years for an album that sounds like it was thrown together in a few weeks. Still, at least Pink Venom, Yeah Yeah Yeah and Hard to Love are great.
