I just heard on the radio that they only have 12 days left of current negotiations to re-sign a record deal or they're free agents. I have no idea how these things work or what the negotiations encompass, but if things fall through there's no chance they cancel upcoming tour dates right? .... Scheduled to see them in Vegas Aug 18th and I'd be absolutely crushed.
Would they ever sign to a Western label for more free reign or is that unheard of?
I have been wondering this the whole process. Surely if their negotiations fail, they are one of the biggest pop acts in the world, they must be able to get good deals somewhere.
The only time I can think of this happening is PSY and CL, but that was with Scooter Braun for management rather than a label, and we seen how that went anyway.
But Blackpink are bigger than Kpop now, so I could see them signing onto an american label for sure.

I imagine that if they were to leave YG, they'd encounter the same issues that 2NE1 experienced with YG owning the trademark rights to the band's name, meaning that BLACKPINK couldn't continue as BLACKPINK.
Genuinely curious to see how this turns out. I sometimes get the impression their heart's not really in it anymore, I wonder what the future of BLACKPINK would/will be if the girls had/have more of a say. At least we'll probably see a change from the dripfeed of releases of the last few years, for better or worse.

Wait I thought it was just going to be marketing single like Ready For Love, but this Forbes article seems to say The Girls has a radio deal in US. Does that mean it's actually being pushed and promoted? Do we know if they filmed a video?

Not bad but it feels very Blackpink on autopilot. I guess it’s OK for a soundtrack song.
