BLACKPINK

The Girls is absolutely Blackpink by numbers, but I'd be lying if I told you I wasn't rinsing the hell out of it. I just wish it wasn't so short and that it ended with the "don't mess with the girls" chant rather than the faded outro. It needs a big finish.

At this point I've stopped expecting anyone on the team to start thinking outside the box, so I'll take what we get.

I mean, it was never going to go well. K-Pop as a genre, is based on highly neutered, vastly censored visuals. I know that you'll find harnesses here and there but always on buttoned-up shirts, hinting is fine. It's global pop made age-appropriate/palatable for audiences that are prone to reject anyone embracing their body (let alone their sexuality).

Sorry for the annoying generalisation about K-Pop, that I'm the first one to fight as an early fan but I'm not surprised she's going to alienate some people, not just haters.

So Blackpink will be a trio or what?
Current rumblings are only Rose has resigned with YG, and the other 3 are seeking new agencies (or possibly start their own), but all 4 still wish to continue group activities, just under seperate management. Historically it's been tricky for members of the same group with different management to align promo schedules though.
That should be a good thing by the way. They will be free to work with new producers, new creative teams, and take charge of their own image.
