I over scored 7 rings with a 5. Its messy and problematic and the lyrics are very "blech" to me, being from a lower/middle class family living from paycheck to paycheck, which is what all the points I took from are for. The 5 was because I problematically bopping to it on listen. If I had listened more then once it probably would've been lower.

7 Rings has never been quite as awful as its made out to be around here. Messy and stupid? Sure absolutely, but it does knock a bit, and my 6 reflects that. It's infinitely more enjoyable than Break Up With Your Girlfriend, Boyfriend, and Sweet But Psycho at the very least.

Before she endorsed Bernie Sanders, Socialist Queen was already laying the groundwork for her 1% brethren to distribute their wealth by way of buying diamonds for their best friends. Benevolent! Signing away 90% of the royalties for this very big hit to the estates of Rodgers & Hammerstein in exchange for sampling My Favorite Things. Probably won't make no money off this, oh well, but at least little Oscar Hammerstein the Ninth has his boarding school paid for.
I'll admit this is not the sound I run to Ariana for, and sonically and lyrically it's a bit of an outlier on its parent album. I recall some hand-wringing that the album would follow this template, which ultimately didn't come to pass. The whiplash of this after the self flagellating introspection of 'in my head', nn, but I guess we deal with grief in different ways, don't we dears? And some of us go to Tiffany's and spend a zillion dollars.
'7 rings' was a runaway hit from day one, piggybacking off 'thank u next's domination to become one of Ariana's biggest hits - eight weeks at #1, including its debut; two Grammy nominations; performances everywhere; and a year-end chart placement of #69 (nice). Some of you hate it, but what can ya do!
Scream, but I most certainly did not give this anywhere near a 10, just saying.
