Bravo - General Discussion

Because the network does air things other than Real Housewives. Why? I'll never know, but I remain stanning most of their other garbage. So here is an area for us to discuss some of the following reality stalwarts on their lineup - and their associated spinoff shows:

I recognize this is mostly for me, so please just allow me to have this outlet to discuss this barely recommendable nonsense - even if it's just with myself.

I grew up with Bravo so I remember watching endless reruns of Tabitha Takes Over/Tabitha's Salon Takeover, Millionaire Matchmaker, and The Rachel Zoe Project even though it was some of the worst television that has ever existed. Housewives and Project Runway felt like Masterpiece Theater in the midst of their early roster.

Tabatha Takes Over is such a classiqüé. A gone too soon classiqüé. The way she’d stomp into whatever establishment and mercilessly talk down to its inhabitants without cracking a smile or dropping a single hint of warmth or empathy...I don’t know a better person, I don’t know a better person.

For all my US hunties who love Real Housewives of Atlanta, I beg you to download Peacock and begin the life changing binge of: Married to Medicine.

All the seasons are available currently on the free tier.

It is truly Bravo’s best show and delivers EVERY SINGLE WEEK. There have been no dud seasons, they have all been FIRE.

For those who haven’t seen it, let me introduce you to the two best reasons to watch:

Not me still having the entire seasons of MED and CLD in 1080p on my external HD. I was a Courtney STAN, she follows me on IG still from those days.
I’m so happy to finally hear from the one other person on the planet who watched these. I think the network gave up on Courtney too quickly. Honestly, she’d be a great Brandi replacement on Dallas Housewives.

A TV icon who will never be replaced. Why she’s not hosting Weakest Link over Jane Lynch I’ll never know.

Housewives has always been a cut above the rest, but there’s always been a je ne sais quoi about Bravo’s shows that have set them apart from other networks. Even Millionaire Matchmaker, which worked so effortlessly on Bravo, fell to a pile of goo the moment it moved to WEtv. Although, what astounds me are the shows they decide to keep around VS the many that were one-and-done as if there’s any difference in the quality.

A defining show of our generation. Poor anyone who has yet to experience its magic. The way these ladies have served up peak RHOA for eight years now.

I never understood why she wasn’t approached for it. She remains popular in the Dallas/Forth Worth area. Her blog is still popular, she did a popular morning show for 5 years following her stint on Bravo (she went viral for calling out her cohosts casual homophobia). She’s engaged to a very wealthy businessman now and lives in the same neighborhood as D’Andra.

Maybe now that she’s engaged and getting married this year they’ll approach her. It’d be a nice full circle moment for her and the network.

The only Bravo show I watched religiously was Project Runway. Now it’s Below Deck and its sisterins. Is there any other Bravo show worth watching now? I feel it’s too late for me to start with the Housewives now.
