To be honest although they're saying xmas it'll probably be pushed back to this time next year, anything can happen between now and the tentative release date to push it back ...

If Britney can get the gossip bloggers on-side, half the battle will have been won. So many of them trashed 'Blackout', basically because of her antics and appearance (everything but the music), that it put tons of people off. I realise there was tons of other bad publicity coming from just about every direction but I'd say the bloggers were the source of it. Perez in particular posted loads of the tracks (and delighted in her downfall), which I listened to and thought 'fuck - this is going to be amazing' but he proceeded to savage them. Soooo many people must have gone along with his opinions blindly. He's being nicer to her these days I think.

'Blackout' - a genuine pop injustice if ever there was one. I really can't sing its praises highly enough and I have turned so many people on to it! I think it was the best album of last year by miles.

The version that we saw wasn't the full thing. I think the rumors were that Jive thought it was too riske and so re-edited it. The video was never meat to be just Britney dancing around a pole for 3 and a half minutes. They filmed more scenes. I keep hoping the original version will get leaked!

The video apparently was too risky, not riske.

I meant to write risque not risky. Have you got nothing better to do then check peoples posts for grammar and spelling mistakes? Unless you have an opinion about the content of my posts, I'd prefer it if you didn't pull them apart for spelling mistakes. It's childish.

Sorry if I took your post the wrong way. I think either risky or risque works. I've seen an uncensored version of Gimme More with a lot more boob showing than in the released version. I'd say that is quite risque! Was the video risky because it was risque? ha ha

I've seen a ruder version of the video where Britney exposes more of her boobs. Found it on a viral video website.

There's also some other scenes that were cut. There's photos online of Britney during a dance sequence (it looks like) in the club setting with a slightly different outfit, as well as a very pretty brunette Britney sitting on a bed in what appears to be a hotel suite.

I really despise the Gimme More video, it just reminds me of what a state she was, that song had such potential for a fantastic video and yet we got that crap grrrr!

Oh well, I hope the new album is as hot as Blackout (and the same style) and if it is just imagine the videos and live performances we'll get to see now she's better (or at least on the mend!)

I completely agree with you. She seems to be improving, training, and looking better, but I don't want her back until she's 100% ready. I think Blackout being released was very important, but if she's going to have the longevity I believe she can then she has to get out there and promote.

I totally agree, it's a great song but the video just makes me depressed. I almost wish people wouldn't show it anymore but then when i do see it on MTV or whatever I simultaneously feel strangely optimistic - like, yay, there is still some love for her out there!

That might just be me though...

I would think that is her priority - she has to show the courts she has stability and routine in her life, as their main concerns were her chaotic behaviour and erratic mental state. The court-ordered reports comment that she clearly loves her children, but they got caught up in her lifestyle, which she is now actively being forced to change thanks to the conservatorship. I really can't see it being anything other than a 50-50 split again, and that would be the best case scenario.

So it's official, Brit plans to release "Radar" on July 7th 2008 have been confirmed by the singles producer "The Clutch".
Brit is directing the vid herself. The video will start shooting in late June.
So what does THIS mean we won't get "Toy Solider" released? That would just suck, THAT could have been a MEGA comeback song... (not knocking "Gimme More")
I really TS was the BEST on the record. Seems silly not to release it.
I LOVE "Radar", hope it has some amazing remixes.. We can always count on Brit to have like 20 mixes for a song, which I LOVE!

I knind of like the whole 'blackout era'. The fact her video's were shocking, the infamous VMA performa and her crazy personal life were quite fascinating. The fact that she's had this really 'dark' phase just gives her more depth and makes her more interesting (in my eyes), and even though unintended, the title 'blackout' just fitted this Britney phase so well. If they can give her next record the spin of 'coming out of her 'blackout' or whatever I think it will be genious.

Also, on the subject of her getting 'better;' is it not true that we still don't REALLY know exactly what was wrong with her? I'm sure it wasn't so much 'hard drug abuse' as most media outlets were making out-it's not like she has to get over an 'addiction.' OBVIOUSLY she is in a fragile mental state, but now she has the right care and focus in her life, I think she's fast recovering. That 'Sam Lufti' was NO good for her.
