So Mariah Carey can get a thread for every single she releases off her album and Brit can't? No fair!

starting a topic about a new single is complete fine, i personally like to get the single details and stuff in its own topic rather than trawling through hundreds of posts about allsorts of crap!

now on to "radar" as a single...

i think its a very good choice, although if it was my choice id have made this the 3rd single and not released "break the ice" at all. im sure "radar" can get britney back in the top 10, as long as it has good remixes, and that theyre actually ON the cd!

It's not official at all, you mixed your facts up. The Clutch said it was the "next single", but every producer says their song is an artist's "next single."

The rest of the info you posted was from a tabloid a few weeks ago. The cover you posted is also most likely fake, seen as it was posted on an unknown fansite, and has yet to be officially sourced.

Oh but it is. It really is! I like the single cover - she looks like a pretty Amy Winehouse with her hair down. So much hair. Whenever I see masses of extensions I always wonder if they weigh the persons head down.

I totally agree the "Break The Ice" was not a good single choice and if "Radar" had been released instead of that, she would have had another hit riding on the momentum of "Piece of Me"

The song had so much potential for an 'interesting' and 'different' video a bit more fitting to the song. But no, we just get Britney dancing in a club, and the director trying to fool us into thinking one of those girls at the begining was her *rolls eyes*. They played it a bit safe in my opinion. The dancing was naff and she still looked a bit dead behind the eyes; the only thing that was good about it was the fact it was the best she'd looked in a long time... but that wasn't hard.

Maybe I'm just a bit too critical.

I like it, it felt cohesive and I love how the tiny bits of dance routine Britney joins in with are so great, as if when you watch you can just tell how effortless it is for her. I suppose it's imperfect but all things considered it's a cool video considering how little she seemed to want to promote 'Blackout'.

This is my 4th favourite song on the album so I totally agree it should be the 4th single. I think they should stick with this, and then maybe Toy Soldier as a 5th and put the album to bed. There's no need for a release when it's had 3 successful singles and the album is generally viewed as a success by the general public (even if the sales suggest less so).

Go away for a bit, sort your head out, record new material (rather than relying on old demoes like has been suggested for a new album) and come back then.

If it's 'Blackout II' and people actually sit up and take notice, I'll be pleased. If any 'Blackout' off-cuts make it on there I think it would be disastrous - some of those tracks are amazing but the bloggers will rip her apart for recycling old material.

i was referring to the fact that "break the ice" had alot of remixes, but in the uk all we got was a 2 track cd single, with the 2nd track being an instrumental. theres no wonder cd single sales are so low with stuff like that happening!

I hope this single gets a proper E.P for the remixes... or at least release them on itunes.
Itunes has only one remix of "Break The Ice" and it is the worst one!
I hope The video she directs has A LOT of dancing.

Blackout remains one of my all-time favorite albums, I don't think she can ever top it, ever.

Having said that, I'd be really happy with a new album, not that I'm bored of Blackout, but I've been loving Britney as of late, and wouldn't mind a new album with a similar sound to Blackout. I've always thought Bloodshy & Avant are marvelous producers, happy that she's working with them again.

And bring Danja back on board, he's way much more creative than Timbaland, Timbaland's productions sound tired, but "Gimme More" and "Open Toes" still sound (Apart from the latter's lyrics).. fresh.

I'm definitely with Steve and Rhythm, getting the kids back, or at least working towards that, should be her number one priority right now, and I do think it is. It's very easy to lose custody, but it will be a struggle to get it back. It is too bad that she lost it, it's not as if Kevin is any type of saint, so I do hope she get things together.


As for the recording, I would love an entirely Bloodshy produced album, I really do feel that she does her best work with them.

If they use Blackout leftovers there is likely no chance they'll be the ones that have already leaked. My guess is that they will use leftovers...britney always carries over a few songs that didn't make the cut for the last record, and re-vamps them. But they never end up making it out of the vaults anyhow.

I personally don't see the problem with using "leftovers"...i mean, just because they didn't make it onto the album doesn't mean they are bad. Sometimes songs are great...but they just don't fit with the album's style as well as others. The whole Gwen Stefani thing that was mentioned earlier was really blow out of proportion...it was 2 tracks on a 12 track album, and one of them happened to be one of the best songs on the record.

Does anyone else get annoyed by the way she pronounces "radar"? It sounds like "raider". First time I listened to it, I thought she was singing "operator". I'm not the biggest fan of this song really. I much prefer Toy Soldier, Freakshow, Ooh Ooh Baby and Get Naked.

That's actually incorrect. HMV etc posted the wrong tracklist for release and everyone who actually bought the 'Break The Ice' single (me included) was kind of surprised to find 'Everybody' as the b-side.

I wouldn't mind if an amazing version of 'Kiss you all over' was on there. I loved the LQ version of it that was floating around...

I can't decide whether I want the new songs to be a bit more personal to Brit's situation, or if that would just be a bad thing?
