'Hold It Against Me' is easily in my Britney top 10. To this day it still sounds new. There's a certain aggression that it has, particularly in the verses and her vocals that never lets the song sag despite the melodramatic choruses. Britney's vocals have been devoid of personality these last few albums but she sounds alive on this track. Add that with the epic buildup to the final explosive chorus and you have a proper tune.

This. The song is a proper I'M BACK moment. Too bad the video let it down.

"Hold it against me" is amazing! I know so many people who became interested in Britney again because of that song! It's just a straight in your face popstep anthem!

Still one of my favourite singles of hers. I can't believe it is nearly two years old since we first heard it. Like Peter said, the final version of the song itself is like a shark compared to the demo.

I remember the magical moment of my first-time-listen. Still in love with this record. The build up till the middle 6 and last chorus is fantastic.
I picked up my friend this evening who´s a casual Britney listener and we went mental after pumping this through my proper soundsystem in my car.

Listen to this album again and I thought it was good, its just a little forgettable and safe.

But there are a lot of single-worthy tracks like Trouble for Me and Big Fat Bass is 100x better than Scream and Shout.

Hold It Against Me is still my favorite Britney song. Everything about it encapsulates what an amazing Britney song should be. The spoken bit, the stripped back first two choruses, the relentless opening, the bridge that tears the song up and down, it's all so irresistible.
