Britney Spears Singles Rate

WHAT. Who seriously would give that below a 9? Best song she's released.

Everytime for the win now I guess! Amazing that there are two In the Zone songs left, that definitely is her best album.

WHAT. This is not happening.

Everytime has to win now, it has to. I can't bear Toxic being the 'best' Britney single.

This is a travesty. Stronger is so underrated should have been number one! I'm rooting for everytime to win now. Would be interesting having Britney's best single be a ballad.

He / Him / His
Stronger didn't deserve a Top 3 placing. There - I said it! These are the right two finalists in my opinion.

Eveytime is my favourite of her actual singles (Toy Solider, for the win) and I'd love for it to beat Toxic, which is obviously and incredible song, but it'd just be interesting as ...Baby and Toxic are the only songs which ever seem to get a look in.

Perfect final. I never voted, but I'd have given 10/10 for all ITZ singles (...although I obviously choose to ignore Outrageous' existance).

I'd love for Everytime to win, but I think we all know that Toxic is gonna take the top spot!

The music video for the song is known for Spears' memorable choreography, incorporating the use of a chair.

There's also this absolutely pointless scene on a bridge that looked cheap even back then.

Everytime for the win.

It's now time to reveal the top Britney single as voted for by you, the members of Popjustice. Will it be dancefloor electropop stomper, Toxic? Or will it be the beautiful, tear-jerker piano ballad, Everytime? Before the winner is announced, we shall take a look at both the songs.

This was released as the second single from Britney's fourth studio album, In The Zone. It is to date a classic pop song and is undoubtedly one of the best Britney has recorded. It peaked at the Number 1 top spot on the UK Singles Chart and Number 9 on the US Billboard Hot 100 making it a chart success. It is also a groundbreaking song for Spears' career as it earned Britney her first and to date, only Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording. It also earned her an Ivor Novello Award for Most Performed Work. The video for Toxic is also very memorable as it features Britney in several iconic outfits, such as a see through body suit, an air hostess costume and a biking attire with bright red hair. It is also one of her most critically successful songs, receiving praise for it's lyrics, catchiness and hooks. It has been covered by many artists such as Example, Alexandra Burke, A Static Lullaby and the cast of Glee.

This was released as the third single from In The Zone. It is considered the greatest ballad that Britney has recorded in her entire career and one of her most meaningful songs to her fans. Spears co-wrote this song with fellow writer, Annette Stamatelatos. The song was a great success in Britain, peaking at the Number 1 top spot on the UK Singles Charts. It peaked at Number 15 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The music video for the song is one of Spears' most memorable and controversial. It was directed by controversial director/photographer, David LaChapelle. In the video, Spears plays herself and it shows her cracking under the pressures of fame and love. It features her head bleeding and her drowning in the bathtub, causing her to be rushed to hospital. It caused a stir due to the graphic nature and the nudity during the scenes in the bathtub.

And now it's time to reveal which song has won.

Everytime finished with an average score of 9.04. I'd like to thank everyone for voting. I enjoyed doing this and writing up the pieces on each song every day. Was fun. Kinda sad it's over as it was great for passing time. Hope you're all reasonably pleased with the winner.

I gave both 10s and I'm not surprised that Toxic won, but I think I'll always prefer Everytime, it's just so hauntingly beautiful.

Oh and big thanks to SeanXD for doing this, I've loved going down the list and finding out what other people thought, it's been very enjoyable!

What an amazing end to a great quest!

I am slightly disgusted at the low charting of 'Boys' though.

BUT CONGRATULATIONS 'TOXIC'!
One of my favourite songs. EVER. Britsean is completely right - it perfectly encapsulates everything about Britney at her peak.

And 'Everytime' was an extremely worthy runner-up. I adore that song.

I can't believe I came into this so late!

Thanks, SeanXD!
