Britney Spears

In my fantasy world, the original Circus campaign would have lasted around a year with a typical singles run, then they'd re-release the album (as was all the rage back then) around its first anniversary in November/December 2009 with Amnesia as the lead single - it's got a bit of a Christmassy feel so is absolutely perfect for that time of year. (3 could have gone on that re-release too, and been the second single from it.)

Anyway, Amnesia blows up, gets played everywhere you go and storms the charts worldwide just like Womanizer did a year earlier, the album gets a strong second wind (especially with a follow-up like 3), and all is great in the world.

I strongly agree, though Amnesia or no Amnesia, it would have been way smarter to re-release Circus than do The Singles Collection.

Not Blackout. The Dolby Atmos Mix of “Break The Ice” is definitive! Though “Piece Of Me” was a bit odd.

Also, love that the songs are uncensored. Finally!
Blackout disappointed me the most! The amazing backing vocals on "Get Naked" are so muffled as to be non-existent. "Gimme More" is a mess. I'll need to check out "Break the Ice" again. Though it was nice to hear the uncensored stuff.

Love Trip To Your Heart, but there are several more single worthy songs on Femme Fatale:

How I Roll
I thought I was the only one who would see the vision of “How I Roll” as a single ddd.

“Inside Out” could’ve worked but I felt like the campaign ran out of the steam after the “I Wanna Go” video came out (I was surprised and thankful we got “Criminal” though).

I remember Larry (I think) hyping Femme Fatale as Britney's Ray Of Light. They're not of the same thematic character at all but I think Femme is one of Britney's funnest, most adventurous sounding albums. And at the time, I considered it the sunny, right-side-up sister to the twisted bizarro-world Blackout.

Didn’t he say that about Brenda Joan instead?
Fffffffff it was actually for Britney Jean aksjskskjsjs like I'm sorry that's camp

On Thursday, "Jersey Shore" star DJ Pauly D told us that Britney Spears' next album, Femme Fatale, is full of "club bangers." Her manager, Larry Rudolph, gave us even more specifics about the album when we spoke to him.

"In my opinion, this is her strongest album ever. It's somewhat of a departure from what she's done. It's more mature," he told MTV News about the March 29 release. "It's more of a dance record and this really is — and I was talking a lot about [director] Jonas [Åkerlund] and coming to Jonas because of 'Ray of Light' — and this really is Britney's Ray of Light album."

Ff so it turns out Larry claimed both Femme Fatale and Brenda Joan were Britney's "Ray of Light" as per this interview:

"I really think of this as Britney's Ray of Light album. [Britney] wrote everything on the album with collaborators. There's one or two she wrote herself … She wanted to make it very personal."

Blackout ~Dolby Atmos ver.~ including 2/3 Japanese Bonus Songs (sorry to Paul Oakenfold’s “Gimme More” remix but you don’t really matter) made me hope we would at least have gotten “Amnesia” and “Scary” for the Dolby Atmos of Circus and Femme Fatale respectively.

I’d say the biggest case of “the lost single” for each album (trying really hard not to name multiple tracks) was:

Baby: I Will Be There

Oops
: What U See (Is What U Get)/Can’t Make You Love Me

Britney
: Lonely/Cinderella (the latter really deserved to be on the DWAD set list at the very least)

In The Zone: Breathe On Me

Blackout
: Get Naked (I Got A Plan)

Circus
: Unusual You

Femme Fatale
: Trip To Your Heart

Britney-:
Jean

Glory: Change Your Mind (No Seas Cortes)/Better/Do You Wanna Come Over?

What a perfect list! I agree with all your choices.

Trip To Your Heart is my top3 Britney song so I'd have gone straight to gay heaven if it had been released as a single.

I still remember everyone expecting a huge personal and retrospective album from Britney Jean ("omg she's used her middle name for the title this is going to be DEEP") fff. I do wonder why it was marketed as that? They could have just passed it off as a party album (a terrible one at least)

With Femme Fatale I do still enjoy revisiting it mainly based on nostalgic factors, it was the soundtrack of my life back in 2011 and brings back so many memories. I don't think it's as good as her previous albums but there's also some great songs here (again some of the best were relegated to bonus tracks, something most of her albums suffer from). My main negativity surrounding Femme Fatale is probably Big Fat Bass, I've honestly always thought it was awful and one of the worst things she's put her name to.

I really hope we get the full tea someday on why Myah Marie's vocals were so heavily used to replace Britney's on BJ. Was Britney just so over it that they couldn't get her to record for more than 30 minutes, or finish songs? Considering she was apparently involved in co-writing every song, it doesn't make sense.
