I forgot this happened. All this excellence for a “unisex” fragrance that smelled like mocha frappuccinos available exclusively at Walmart.
Reading this thread just made me realise that if they had instead re-issued Circus in 2009 with 3 as the "new" lead, then just gone on to Femme Fatale as they did - they could have very easily done a Greatest Hits for the launch of the Piece of Me with Work Bitch, Perfume and maybe Ailen as the new singles, maybe even a bonus rarities CD for the deluxe. I know in that iTunes era Greatest Hits weren't doing so well but I could see it being a relative sucess and most importantly, saving us from the whole Britney Jean fiasco. But then we may have not got Glory so... just another "what if" in the Britney Jean Multiverse.
Yep! I never understood the decision to do a new Greatest Hits after Circus. It was only two albums since the last one!
I feel like people on the label side may have seen the goodwill for the Girls Aloud Singles Box and wanted to try their hand at that with Britney (two tracks though? A proper waste of plastic) but also released a standard 1-disc version. It all seemed pointless.
Shame Circus didn’t happen a year later, because then the label would’ve probably gone with The Fame Monster/Paradise/Cannibal route.

It's all because that we got Glory at last that I honestly wouldnt dare change anything.
The way we were dangerously close to getting an album of Pretty Girls and Clumsy's. I'm so glad Britney and Karen got together and decided to scrap most of it and give us a proper pop masterpiece. Glory really feels like even more of a triumph now; a true tour-de-force of everything that makes Britney great but put through a 2016 filter. Can't believe next year it'll be ten(!) years!!
I like it too - but it just doesn't feel as well produced as the rest of the album.

It is a bit crunchier than the rest, but then again I do tend to love Garibay productions (this isn’t one of his, but “crunchy” is his specialty).
