Camila Cabello - Camila

Camila's rise to pop stardom is imminent. She just needs the song. Bad Things is not it, but it'll do its job.

She better not call herself "CC" ever. Between Babcock and Princess Harris we have enough CCs to stan for.

None of them as iconic as

Ok, but honestly I love her tone in all doses.

And I never understood the "they're not big enough for any of them to be successful". The argument of "people from much bigger groups failed" only goes to prove the way I see it, I think. It doesn't really matter if your group is big or not when most of the solo popstars had no platform to raise their profile beforehands, so at the end of the day it's only down to her really. In Nicole's case I genuinely think people knowing the group was a bad thing instead of a good one. Her personality is really good as well.

I_CANNOT_USE_REAL_WORDS_PROPERLY_ at Miss Cabello having the doubters perched't in her thread.

Charlie Walk loves her and wants to make her a star.

I will say this, while I don't love Bad Things and it hasn't sold me on sitting down and listening to a full solo album of hers, her voice has drawn me back to it a couple of times.

Already #42 on pop radio and making really big gains, while floating just outside the top 100 on iTunes. No guarantees but right now it looks like this has a good chance at being a solid hit.

Her voice is certainly polarizing but many of the artists out there rely on their unique tones to distinguish themselves from the rest. She's also quite savvy with her social media game and her lowkey branding game.

What I find interesting is she's made it a priority to learn guitar and write more and I think it's all been a very premeditated move to give herself credibility outside of a "girl group", which is where a lot of girl-group-gone-solo members struggle.

And that's where I struggle with her. Everything seems so premeditated and false from the group dynamic/perspective. While certainly being a solo star is probably all their end goals, Camila has always made it a little too obvious, which has to be a big part of the rumored friction and makes me view her as less authentic and more calculating.
