Canada’s Drag Race vs. The World (S2)

He/Him/His

I only hope I will look this good when I’m 43. But who am I kidding, I’m 33 and I already don’t look this good haha.

Ok woof. I've seen him on Grindr in Amsterdam quite often now that I think of it. This is all a while back though, before I knew he did drag.

Anyway. I was gutted by LGD'd decision, but I have a very negative bias towards Choriza so yeah. And of course with LGD being absolutely stellar, I will accept any decision she makes. That second look was beyond.

Arantxa's drag was...rough, but my god she is so likeable. I'd have picked her to stay over Choriza, who I cannot fucking stand.

I quite liked Choriza on her original season, but this time she's just grinding my gears. She's taken that personality and dialled it up to 1000 and is just in full on camera aware performance mode all the time and I can't stand it. And the looks are shit. I also absolutely hate the way she paints. It's so unflattering.

LGD is just operating on an entirely other level though. Marina's workroom dress was also spectacular.

This was a great episode. I couldn’t disagree with those who made judges critiques although Tia getting there would have been nice.

Fabulous lip sync. La Grande Dame is bat shit crazy and I am loving every minute. Her second runway was the best of the night and one of my favourites maybe ever. I hope she and Marina become the breakout stars like Jimbo and Pangina did after the first season of UKVTheWorld.

They/them, he/him
How was Jonbers not in the bottom with that awful final dress? It was fabric wrapped around her waist with a bustle.

I'm enjoying this but I think the (to put it politely) imbalance (!) in the casting will inevitably drag it down the longer it goes on. You have two queens who could hold their own in basically any Drag Race final and... basically everyone else all varying shades of just-happy-to-be-there. It's difficult to imagine how half of them at their most glowed-up, on a good day, could compete with Marina and LGD just phoning it in.

I didn’t watch Kita’s original series so I’m probably missing some context, but so far I’m just getting Kameron Michaels.

She dominated her original season and the producers had to pull some absolute fuckery to elminate her so they could crown the winner they wanted (she was put in the bottom with a queen who actually broke the rules of the challenge and clearly won the lipsync). Highkey one of the most robbed contestants of the franchise. The fan backlash over her elimination was partly why Holland didn't get a third season.

There is some real talent in Drag Race Holland 2, but the producer fuckery kind of threw it off the rails at the Top 4--Keta probably would've won the season.

Also, a BOP

I'm really surprised Vivaldi hasn't been on an international season yet and would've assumed producers wanted her for UKvTW2 to bring the drama with a fairly...demure cast

Yes but she haven't shown anything like Marina and LGD have done to new people who don't know her.

Not the racist winner being quoted here - BYE! Holland remains cancelled for a good reason.

Chorizo May is insufferable this season and she's reallly grating:
