The One (but with amped up energy) comparisons are accurate . As a stan that's had the lyrics to The One in my signature since 2016.... gurls I'm shaking, decimated, and couldn't be happier. Thanks Mom.
I’m in the same spot. She sorta pulled the rug from under us after Western Wind.Western Wind > Talking To Yourself >>> Beach House
I'm cautiously optimistic about the album because of her track record, even if Western Wind is the only track I truly love from this project so far.
Talking To Yourself has that obsessed-in-and-out-of-love, vaguely sinister stalker energy I love about certain songs in Carly’s discography. Songs like Fever, Emotion, I’ll Be Your Girl, Tonight I’m Getting Over You all have her sort of playing up the role of a “crazy” ex-girlfriend that won’t go gently into that good night after a breakup - she wants them to hurt and never forget.
