I'm cautiously optimistic about the album because of her track record, even if Western Wind is the only track I truly love from this project so far.
Talking To Yourself has that obsessed-in-and-out-of-love, vaguely sinister stalker energy I love about certain songs in Carly’s discography. Songs like Fever, Emotion, I’ll Be Your Girl, Tonight I’m Getting Over You all have her sort of playing up the role of a “crazy” ex-girlfriend that won’t go gently into that good night after a breakup - she wants them to hurt and never forget.
I was already excited with Western Wind, one of her best songs.Talking To Yourself is so good! I’m excited again.
