Reading those documents was like listening to Britney's testimony that was (fortunately) leaked. I have cried so much hearing all of the things that women in entertainment (and general society) have to endure in silence, and the stuff that they also experience publicly, like Megan.I need to spend time reading the actual documents released so I’m properly informed but just so proud of Cassie for coming forward and seeking justice from all that she’s endured at the hands of that man. Aubery has always been on the money with her dislike for him and there was always an air of bad vibes around him, I guess this reallt solidifies him being a garbage human being.
Sad thing is I’m more than sure many people, fans and those in the industry, will continue to support him despite what he’s done. We see it everyday, especially when women come forward to talk about the abuse they’ve experienced at the hands of powerful men.
I was confused about this too before which is why I'm replying; she did not sue for $30m, her lawsuit didn't specify an amount. His lawyer claimed she "demanded" that in his first response to the lawsuit (so that was probably his team's last offer before she filed considering her lawyer's quote just mentioned "eight figures").I'm glad she doesn't have to relive her trauma in court and I hope she got way more than the 30m she sued for. The entertainment industry better not brush this under the carpet
My guess is she was asking for a lot more (and hopefully got it considering it was settled so fast, and it wasn't due to more extreme intimidation/threats). The lawyers I've seen talking about this say his team came out looking very bad and people speculate they weren't expecting her to actually file a lawsuit/go public but we don't know actual details so anyway, death to all of them (that Demon and all his enablers)."Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations. Ms. Ventura's demand of $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail," Brafman said.
In response, Ventura’s attorney Douglas Wigdor said in a statement: “Mr. Combs offered Ms. Ventura eight figures to silence her and prevent the filing of this lawsuit. She rejected his efforts.”
She actually did mention in a Facebook Live she did in 2021 that she had "got the rights" to her unreleased music and was considering this. I imagine she could have got the rights to it when she left Bad Boy in 2019, possibly on the condition that she wouldn't speak out. Who knows, but I for one would lap up any content she decides to give us. Her unreleased catalogue is excellent.I don't know where Cassie stands on releasing music at this point (I feel like she's mentioned recording over the last couple years), but it would be amazing if she released a compilation/sophomore album made up of her favorite material from the last *checks notes* 13 years that she's been blocked from releasing a body of work. Maybe re-record and freshen some of it up with the producers and add some new stuff too. She really deserves a proper resurgence if she wants it. But I wouldn't blame her at all if she decided to go live her life in peace with her new family.
queen shit
the way Cassie was also signed to these 2 men at some point, sigh. hopefully more victims continue to come forward
