So I'm starting to think I have to get back the shelf that's currently being used by my father (whom I don't speak to) cause there are a lot more 'oh fuck no I'm not letting this one go' albums in all of these boxes than I considered and I don't want lack of space to be a factor in my decisions (also: those shelves aren't for sale anymore)

Anyway, bunch 7:
KEEP (Only ever so slightly torn on 3 Words because pre: it is signed on the actual case. Against: one of the two case handles broke. I also need a new copy of that Girl Thing album cause I hate this artwork but the alternative is like... 30 euros?)
FxJQc5DX0AM4ezl

SWEEP (I still own 3 editions of Angels With Dirty Faces and also 3 (including the one pictured) of Between Us)
FxJQc5CXsAMPkec

RELISTEN
FxJQc4xWwAAXwfc

Next 50
KEEP (1) Wait.. why and how is that sticker upside down???
Fw4rcF5WcAEYbcs

SWEEP (13) (No worries, I still own 3 other versions of Come On Over)
Fw4rcF2WAAIj2M0

RELISTEN (36.. yikes)
Fw4rcF4WIAECLgV

I may have to go through the relisten pile one more time once I'm done and realize how many there are..
I guess this is what Marie Kondo recommends 'getting everything from one category onto one pile so you realize how much you own' but I can't think straight with 1000s of CDs on my floor.

Thanks for reminding me of Amiel! Where did you find Audio Out with that cover? I'm searching for it but all I find is that other one.

I could actually see myself changing my mind (on both?) if I played them. Cause a whole Lolly album might be a bit much but she feels like a big part of the period I watched Live & Kicking and bought Smash Hits religiously and that era and type of pop is my happy place.
While with Portishead.. I know I quite like Glorybox, and I like most of Hooverphonic’s albums so I think in theory I could learn to appreciate the album but.. it just never happened and I have zero connection to the album as it is?

The fact that it was even called “My First Album”, I…

The Portishead album is one of the essentials in my own journey as it kickstarted my love for trip-hop and expanded my musical horizon a bit. Still a big favourite of mine.

Savage Garden on the “sweep” pile, aww…

Don’t get rid of the signed Cheryl CD! You may regret it later.

Well I do also have a signed sleeve from the same moment.
Savage Garden for whatever reason was a double copy!

That Brand New Heavies collection is top notch. One of my favourite collections.
See, these kind of comments make me wanna give albums another shot (hence nothing ever leaving this house).
I was more into their 2000s and onwards material though (and hate the colors of the artwork)

I think it was a record fair (cheap too) and I really only got it out of curiosity/as I knew her from a Puretone song. I still have no idea what the album’s like so if it’s not my cup of tea I’d happily send it to you

Happy that the allSTARS* album is in the 'stay' bunch!
It's kind of an odd one cause I remember finding some of it a bit twee (even for my taste??) and not as strong as I'd like from a mixed band (same thing with Hear'say's albums), but it just feels too on brand for me to let go completely

Meh.
It's not terrible here or anything, like there's still songs from that period that make me nostalgic in a way that feels good, but it just isn't my 'happy place' and diving into like a full playlist of songs from a particular year or a full album from that time.. well doesn't necessarily cheer me up (at the same time when it comes to my plan to revisit old albums and whatever they made me think about I do find it kinda interesting to navigate)

Their stuff is definitely hard to track down, especially because their name yields so many generic search results.

I've got quite a substantial Play collection though! (The Target 'Replay' CD took forever to find!).

Took me years to find the Target edition of Replay as well! Question for you, do we know where the full Boys Lie comes from? I've never seen any reference to it on Discogs outside of the snippet.
