Another Medimops/Momox haul

FxXvc_YXwAA2eBw

Unfortunately all cases were damaged (going by the loose bits of plastic in the envelope in mail) and I'm less impressed with the crease in En Vogue's back cover:1685444178275.png

Anyone happen to have a hack for getting stickers of a case without damaging them?
(As you might see I did not quite succeed with Evermore's)

Rub alcohol with a soft cloth, I think it'll work.

Hairdryer on a low-ish heat may help soften the glue enough to remove it without damage. It's a method I've successfully used on other items, however I've never tried it on a CD case. You might want to give it a trial run on one of the discs you're planning to dump first. Take it slow.

Hmm yeah and then will it stick again after?

So frustrating when all of the cases from a CD haul arrive damaged! That would always happen to me whenever I bought more than 1 item from eStocks/Decluttr or musicMagpie on eBay :(

Yeah I mean.. the booklets and discs (apart from that EV sleeve) are all in perfect shape so overall not too shabby, but especially with cases with stickers on them it kinda sucks.
(Which is sort of silly cause if Evermore had arrived without the sticker I probably wouldn't have missed it)

The previous owner must have put it in one of those plastic wallets, but not the full size ones, so it needed to be folded to fit in. I see this quite a bit. So medimops have simply recased it, or the person selling it to them did so before sending it.
Yeah that was my best guest to what happened but considering their usual quality it shouldn't have been graded 'very good'
(Although of course I can't now no longer see for sure if it was cause they never put the state on the bill/in your order history)

Momox are usually okay, but they've been poor with my most recent order. They didn't ship it for 2weeks, and then a month later (so, six weeks after I bought it) there's still no sign of it. It was via ebay so I can get my money back, but Momox said no need to contact ebay, please write to us directly. Hmmm.

Heading for my final box and I'm like 'where's Outkast's Love Below and Cassie Davis' album?'
(Neither particular faves but it doesn't make sense alphabetically for them to still show up. But also, no clue whatsoever what WILL show up in these last few batches...)
Anyway, onto business as usual:

KEEP

SWEEP

HMM (got another edition with more tracks but worse artwork of X on my shelves. Also Laundry Service without bonus tracks. Otherwise not the worst listen to pile at all!)

Right, I'm 'done' (still have 3 groups of 50 to photograph/share but otherwise good) and there's no trace of Cassie Davis, but going through my Discogs multiple albums in the letter range D-F seem to not have shown up, as well as some with the H/J/L so now I'm gonna have to have a good think where I could have stuck CDs besides under my bed and in my kitchen cabinets. Joy!

Edit: lol I thought I was done but to quote Lady Gaga: look what I found!

The severe lack of excitement I feel at ‘even more CDs’..

I mean ABBA wise I have 2 volumes of Gold + 2 volumes of '25 Years After Waterloo" + all the studio albums.
Also this one had a whole lot of dirt/spots on the cover that somehow were impossible to clean (or replace since the logo's printed on it). Oh and it has scratches and german versions for bonus tracks.

No one on the record fair wanted my CDs despite me doing a preselection of classics like Lauryn, Prince and Tina, but a local record store gave me 5 euro for the 13 of them so I'll count that as a win. While he checked them all for scratches I realized imagining any of my 'unsure' CDs were terribly scratched and whether I'd be relieved or eager to buy a new copy straight away might be a good way to check how I feel about them.
Oh and I spent 10 euro on 2 more CDs.

Not to mention that particular compilation uses the 1997 remasters which are awful.
If you want the best sounding ABBA CD’s, you’ve gotta do some work tracking down a combination of the Deluxe Editions, unremastered Polar or Polydor CD’s or a variety of compilations.

Please don’t think I’m insane but….mayonnaise. Full fat, not low fat.
Apply a bit to the sticker and let it sit for a while. Then gently scrape the sticker off with a plastic scraper.
WD-40 works too.

Sheryl Crow's self-titled and Mel C's Northern Star were my charity shop purchase today ":D"
Northern Star is a classic (and despite what photos might suggest one of my all time favourite albums)

I’m getting at the point where I want all the goners gone asap (as wel as the 2000 CD singles in my basement).
Guess I’ll have to go look for a bulk buyer
