I’m heading to Leeds from Canada to see Girls Aloud this weekend. Any suggested shops to browse for CDs in the city?

Although concentrating on vinyl more than CDs your options are really Jumbo Records, Crash Records and Relic Records. They're all very central. Recently my best discovery has been a CD stall at Leeds market which sells an excellent selection of ex-Amazon and ex-HMV stock. The guy running it tends to only be there in the morning (if he's there at all). Saturday morning is probably your best bet.

And here I am just about to ask which charity shop is best for donating to - I want them to realise some of what I'm donating might actually make a bob or two for them. I want to say Oxfam, as they have the website, but please tell me what you think. (I'm in London.)
Definitely Oxfam, it has specialist music stores and the physical quality is good. I bought a lot from the branch in Reading recently.

I find other charity shops all have the same M People/Will Young/Susan Boyle – megasellers of their time.

Reading Oxfam was always very well managed by the ginger Scottish guy 10-15 years ago, great guy. Also the place where I got Now 4 on cd for 3.99..

Yeah. I think it's having some issues at the moment, might even be closed. I overheard someone in a nearby branch talking about it. To do with the river and the water possibly causing issues.
