Granted, this is just a rumor, supposedly from the person who leaked “Von Dutch”. I have no idea how legit it is or if they’re trolling or what. But I hate it. I get they probably want to aim for a similar or better chart position than Crash, but god. Anyway, praying it’s not true and this comes no later than May.

I’m kind of confused. She’s basing the 2000s club minimal electro-clash-trash indie sleaze aesthetic both visually and musically, yet the end product of Von Dutch almost seems like a regression of that, rather than a replication nor an improvement. Like if a hook is gonna make a song, the hook HAS to make the song. It’s flimsy parody. Fuck The Pain Away/Strict Machine do a great job at having a bare bones surface without sacrificing a hook that not only is catchy, but builds off the bones naturally. This just feels empty, not groovy. Idk yall. I’ll still bop at the club though.
