Charlie Puth - Voicenotes

Just because someone writes their own songs, it doesn't mean they write good songs. I've never liked a single song from Charlie Puth. I'd need to shake my ears and head before I could even begin to find anything remotely redeeming about him as a popstar.

Just because you write your own songs, that's doesn't mean you write good songs. If you like Charlie's music, give your ears a good shake.

What are you doing in his topic then? I like a very wide range of music, most of which you'd hear very little about on this forum, but I love to indulge my love of pop here.

Sorry but I'm enjoying this. I mean I'm only 4 songs in but I really can't deny his utterly betautiful songs and fantastic melody/production.

I was pointing out his solo production credits because those abilities and ambitions separate him from a lot of other male popstars. That's literally it. He isn't this groundbreaking, life-changing musician because of it, but it's something nonetheless.

Yeah, it's pretty solid though a few songs kinda fade into the background. I'll play this a few times.

Attention and How Long are still the best ones on the album. I was hoping for 10x those tracks. But we got a bunch of 90s throwback songs instead - it’s not all bad, but most of it doesn’t really grab my attention.

Done For Me is really good too. Apart from those 3 songs, the only ones that caught my attention were Slow It Down and Somebody Told Me.

That’s a big improvement in my books, considering that I liked only the Selena Gomez duet from his last album.

Sorry, but this is lowkey a Top 10 album of the year. Bop after bop after bop, with no shame. And this is to the poster with those "subtle" homophobic remarks: sincerely, fuck you.

A bit off topic, but everytime I'm in a karaoke performing some random shizzle, I get shoutouts for being a bit femme. The remarks that were made here is the kind of behaviour that triggers anxiety in people like me and also does help to develop some kind of "going out to enjoy myself" phobia just because I fear I'll be laughed at. Fuck that stupid shit.

This album is good! I enjoyed every song except maybe "Through It All" the final song, it feels out of place on this album and ends the album on the wrong note. I've never listened to his previous stuff outside the singles from his first album, which is really wasn't fond of, but consider me imprrssed with this album.

It's just a straight up sugary pop album, but it's well made. I'll use a bit.

Well it certainly comes out of the gate fighting, what a stellar first 5 tracks! However, it then quickly looses steam. Still decent, but the latter half of the album probably needs time whereas those first tracks grab you from the very first listen. I'll be giving it a chance though, and it is a solid album (although the Boys II Men track will definitely be jettisoned).
