Charmed

Just finished and

I had a feeling the powerful witch with premonition that Diana mentioned was a nod to Phoebe, so I’m glad they essentially confirmed it. The multiverse thing is starting to become overkill between MCU etc but if it was the only way to see some sort of return for the OG version I’m sure I would have been open to it. Especially if it was just some fun cameos and guest spots that kept that 2006 ending in tact.

As it stands, the final scene on the porch with just the reboot trio was a cute send off. The series was a bit messy at times but I always came back to it and enjoyed it for the most part. Hopefully Sarah Jeffery and Lucy Barrett can move on to bigger and better things.

I hope we get another incarnation of Charmed some day. A second series (this reboot) took a long time to come about, but I really adore the concept and world of Charmed. I am once again feeling a void is left behind without it.

I feel a bit short-changed with only 13 episodes for the final series. The final bit where you realise which famous San Francisco house the Charmed ones have gone to was a nice touch though.

It was a pretty cool ending …..

It’s a shame once the Manor doors opened that there was a wall there rather than the open hall way like in the original charmed

This wasn't consistent on the original series.

yeah the original had a wall whenever they filmed at the actual house

I really don’t understand why those involved with the original act like it’s some sort of untouchable masterpiece.
I don’t think they think it’s an untouchable masterpiece. They’re just annoyed that they were not consulted/approached when the show came to be rebooted and rightfully so because they did work their bums off for 8 years to create something that was beloved around the world. They have also mentioned over the years that they would have loved to have had the chance to revisit the series.

No offense, but there were so many problems behind the scenes of the original and the cast can't get along now, so them even pretending there's a shred of a chance of them being able to work together is laughable to me.

Not to mention, the reboot was on for four years. Maybe get a grip and grow up? It's so petty and annoying and immature. Why disparage the people who worked on the reboot? Why not get mad at the network for not trying to do something with the original folks (even though it will never happen)?

Oh yeah the original definitely had its fair share of problems. Of course the cast would never work together now but back then when the reboot was first originally rumoured they would have and the creator/producer or something along those lines said the never thought of using the characters of even contacting the originals when working on the beginning of the reboot.

I agree all the arguing is getting silly because there are fans of both shows who love what they stand for and it’s kinda putting a negative light on both. At the end of the day the original cast and crew will always be a little bummed that their work was never honoured or mentioned with this reboot and with the reboot finally acknowledging them right at the end probably feels like a slap in the face to them.

As an original charmed lover I just couldn’t get into the reboot, I tried but it wasn’t for me but I must say the thought of what could have happened in that final scene definitely got me a little excited.

Yeah, eye roll at all of this. Points were made back when the first description of the reboot came out and it made it seem like the original didn’t accomplish anything, but it’s long since moved past that. Anyone who watched the reboot past a few episodes could see there was an attempt to honour what came before it and create its own little world at the same time. Reboot fatigue is understandable, but at this point it just seems petty, and kind of disrespectful to fans of both?

That writer should've just said they're still mad they did a reboot instead of a continuation/shared universe from the start, and left it at that. But both shows are over now so it's really silly to see them bicker like that, and does no good for any fan of any of the two series. Also it's 2022 and you've still got an O.G. Charmed pic as your twitter profile pic because you were some random writer on the show?... Choices.
And yeah, I bet he didn't bother to watch more than a few episodes of it.

This writer is acting like reboots/remakes bringing back previous writers is a thing. Unless you are the creator/showrunner, it is very rare that you have any involvement in the new show. More often than not, it's an entirely new team that tosses everything that they didn't like about the original out. I don't understand why this writer is acting like what the reboot did is unusual practice. I mean, the original creator of Charmed was forced out during its original run, so not even creating the show gives you any kind of ownership - it belongs to the studio. Miss Constance M Burge hasn't tossed her toys out of her pram at any point.

The original series was such good fun but there were many ropey, nonsensical things about it that even the original team complained about as much of it was enforced by the network/budget. I think his work was honoured sufficiently simply by bringing Charmed back to TV. Anything else was a bonus - the new team didn't owe him anything.
