Charmed

I really liked listening to her podcast. She turned out to be far more insightful and balanced than I’d expected, and I admire her for her how hard she fought. She knew she wasn’t long for the world, but she made the most of the time she had. RIP to the raven haired beauty who made so many childhoods much more fun.

I’m actually a little devastated. My heart goes out to Sarah Michelle Gellar and Holly Marie Combs right now, I can’t imagine the pain they’re feeling.

To see her come together with the Charmed Ones and be able to fully embrace not only her truth but thee truth of what went down on set so publicly before she died was at least one small justice.

Her setting up this podcast and making sure Holly and the other cohosts were paid fairly for it really moves me after hearing this sad news. In the announcement podcast with Holly she mentioned wanting to work as much as possible to make sure her mom was taken care of and it’s so nice to see her do this for one of her closest friends as well.

Shannen was a bad ass and an icon to the end. She leaves an incredible mark on the entertainment industry and will never be forgotten.

This picture did break my heart earlier today. RIP, legend.

I'm really in such awe of her. She not only fought until the end, she cared about everyone else and still wanted to change the world. I think that's so powerful. At a time where it feels so easy to give up and let such dark forces take over, she really is such an inspiration. I hope she can rest in peace knowing how many lives she touched.

Been rewatching from the beginning with my boyfriend (who's never seen it) and it's interesting watching it all play out. Up to Season 3 and there's a marked difference in what Shannen and Alyssa are wearing compared to the first 2 seasons.
I can't believe that completely by coincidence our rewatch got to episodes 21 and 22 of Season 3 & epsidoes 1 and 2 of Season 4. Seeing Piper/Holly deal with losing Prue/Shannen was even more heartbreaking than the first 3 times I watched it.

What did she do to make sure Holly was looked after?

I’m so happy they worked out their differences over the last couple of years.

They’re definitely my favourite celeb besties.

So shocked about this news, as others said we knew it was probably inevitable but for it to actually happen is so shocking and just sad.

On the last episode of Let’s Be Clear she mentioned that Holly had been asking her for years to appear on her Charmed rewatch pod cast. She asked what the pay was and Holly said it was an independent podcast and she didn’t have a budget to pay people. Eventually the podcast folded for this reason. Shannen surprised Holly by getting them a deal with iheartradio to relaunch the podcast but now being paid, going back to Charmed episode one. It just launched last week.

Originally Shannen was going to be one of the co-hosts. So far they’ve only posted one episode but Shannen mentioned watching a few episodes so it’s possible they were able to pre-tape some other episodes with her.

I'm surprised by how deeply this has affected me. I thought that as we grow older, we would become more detached from our icons or better able to rationalize their passings. It's fascinating how much we can become attached to entertainers through the creative works they share with the world. The meaning we project onto them and their presence in our lives, especially during our formative years, becoming something... tangible.

Amy, Sarah Harding, Shannen – what they've gifted us through their work have been small pieces that helped shape us into the adults we are today. I'm grateful for that - and even for the sadness. It's the best example of how the arts and the culture can move us and affect us. I think there's a certain magic in a Spanish boy feeling sad that one actress from Tennessee decided to appear on a TV show one day. I bet she'd never imagine that legacy.

I don’t think it folded? Did it not stop because this deal came along and they had to relaunch?

The podcast have released the first episode in honour of Shannen and have said she recorded five before she passed.
