ChatGPT and other entertaining AI

Whilst I'd never be silly enough to use it to generate full essays (which I'm sure some people will try to do), ChatGPT is saving me so much time when I need to contribute to my uni discussion forums for participation marks. Usually these posts can take hours but now I can do them in like ten minutes and I have way more time to focus on assignments ddd.

I've been using ChatGPT to get ideas for topics for research papers I've been working on for my astronomy and compositions classes this semester. I fiddled around with asking it to actually write a paper but it did a crap job. It had some good ideas though, and it was able to recommend some great sources I've been able to use and cite for both papers so it's not all bad. People that are actually submitting papers this thing writes are......special probably. With my two jobs and full time school schedule it's hard to get inspiration for my topics, so I've purely been using it as an inspirational tool when my academic databases are just not helping find sources that are useful for my research.

I think that's really where it shines, too. Creative writing and prompting. I would've loved to have had this in college!

The weirdest thing I find about it, is that if it doesn't know about something it will often make shit up.

Ask it for the lyrics of a not completely obvious song and it will make them up. Ask them for the plot of a random TV episode, it makes up a story. Ask them what a minor celebrity has been up to lately, it comes up with some weirdly plausible, but still incorrect story.

I too miss good old fashioned pop star interviews.

Bored so I asked it to write a press release for the mythical Louder:

Now, with "Louder", fans can enjoy even more of Rihanna's signature sound and style. The five new tracks – "Run This Town (Live)", "Talk That Talk (Solo Version)", "You Da One (Acoustic)", "Hypnotized", and "Breakin' Dishes (2011 Remix)" – offer a fresh take on Rihanna's iconic hits, while the remixes of "Only Girl (In The World)" and "S&M" will have listeners dancing along.

Yas, write Talk That Talk as a separate album out of history! You da One (Acoustic) avant la lettre is giving Sophie's Live It Up only ever getting released as an acoustic mix ddd.

Breakin' Dishes (2011 Remix)...

That is amazing. When will the label heads start letting the Borg do A&R work?
