After giving it a proper listen I have to agree with this. It's a well produced album, but lacking in personality for me. That's probably partly a result of Epic not being happy with the album and making Cher record new tracks after I Wish flopped. It's still a bit of a shame it's destined to do a Little Mix (at best) on the US charts

It's really refreshing to have someone releasing a fucking good pop album this year. No pretence, no gimmicks, just great hooks, production and vocals.
It borders on becoming repetitive in places, but it's the kind of repetitive where every song has such big hooks that it almost becomes tiring. The best criticism you can have of an album.
I really hope it smashes in the UK at least because it is far too good not to.

Had this on in the background and it's a very fun little album, she's definitely growing as a pop star. I hope this gets the exposure it deserves.

Sweet Dispair is the song that sound the most current, ironically like a Tove Lo remix even though she wrote Killin It. Maybe her best chance for airplay in the UK. I love the summery feel of Just Be Mine, that chorus after the middle 8 just sounds sooo good, that could work also as a single in an 'Air Balloon' kinda way. Great album though as always, Cher has top notch quality control.

I can't decide if in Just Be Mine the line "I don't mean to hurt you but I do" is meant to be - "I don't want to consciously hurt you but it happened anyway" or "I don't mean to hurt you (changed my mind) I really really do"
Does that make sense?

This album is fantastic. So breezy and light. Last summer Stars Dance was my album full of summer jams, I have a feeling this will take its place. Not a track I dislike.
