Chlöe Bailey - In Pieces

She/Her/Queen
Why couldn’t she just go with the non Ch*** version on the album? Nobody would’ve noticed and it won’t be tainted.

With that being said, I’m still cautiously excited about this.

I’m glad she gets time to flex her creativity and test the waters on her own. But some of these dumb moves plus some of the music just leave me cold.

I hope music with Halle is still on the cards because I feel they really strike amazing balance.

I'm still curious about the album, because she's too talented for there not to be at least a handful of strong tracks. But the general tomfoolery since 2021 means my expectations are nowhere near as high as they should be, and then the Chris Brown collab has basically shifted my energy away as @Trouble in Paradise said.

Sometimes I watch the Do It video or the Ungodly Hour VMAs performance and it's hard not to feel like she's lost what made her stand out in the first place.

Literally just rewatched that VMAs performance before coming into this thread. Despite all the chaos in the world at that time, Chloe x Halle felt like such reliable mood-boosters and like they had quality assurance under control.

I have a lurking suspicion that this album is going to have quite a few skips based off the Bhris Clown collab and my absolute apathy towards "Pray It Away." Let's hope this album has songs as promising as "Body Do" sounds.
