Cyndi Lauper

Yeah, even after reading her autobiography I still do not fully understand what went actually wrong with the conception of A Night To Remember.
From memory (3+ years ago) she made the Kindred Spirit album (complete with Hole In My Heart) and then the flop film happened, the label got antsy and demanded she go back and write more with someone she did not see eye to eye with, and disliked working with. I think it began to make her ill in the end.

But she got it finished, only for Epic to bail on the promotion after single #2.

Cyndi’s Christmas album doesn’t get enough love , it’s a little hit-and-miss but Home on Christmas Day, Early Christmas Morning and Feels Like Christmas are honestly three of my all time favourite Christmas songs. The latter especially has such a special place in my heart , I love it so much. All three are on every Christmas playlist I ever make.

I love her cover of Hard Candy Christmas too

Her tour kicks off soon in the UK and tickets don't seem to be selling that well. Manchester has so many seats available. I guess they're will close off the top tier and move people down.

I wonder if she’ll have more press lined up? They need to get her on Lorraine, Loose Women etc
I’m a huge fan but haven’t got tickets yet - I’m still deciding. I hate area shows generally

I hope they do some sort of promo as it's been a bit quiet ever since Glastonbury, which wasn't great due to sound issues.

I got tickets because it's her last tour, so I would whilst you still can. When did she last tour in the UK?

A few performances on TV could have rectified the Glasto thing. The original Time arrangement on a decent show would do wonders. It's not as if she's not still capable and there's just no one else like her, still.

I saw her at the Royal Albert Hall last year just before Glastonbury and she was great, although it was a very short show (less than an hour and with Girls...in both versions). Looking at her setlist, this tour doesn't seem that long either and those venues are ridiculously ambitious. If they do any half price tickets I could be tempted, but there's no real incentive otherwise.

Yes i was there too and as much as she was great I don't feel the need to see her again this year. Maybe if she had a new (non-country) album to sell/tour I would reconsider.

Nope. I imagine it would be hard to do so giving everything is tied with backdrop videos on clock work and so on.
She should change Iko Iko/Funnel of Love for Something else on the European leg, though. Rocking Chair/Into the Nightlife maybe.

I doubt she will attempt All Through the Night and The World Is Stone sadly, both doesn't work in a lower key.
