I'm playing catch up.

- Why is the Big Night In DVD so solid to get hold of? I don't see any mention of it being Limited Edition but it is nowhere apart from when it is at some ludicrous price. £30 from HMV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Is there anywhere I can buy all those unreleased tracks from the Delicate sessions other than his official site? You can only buy bundles and and because they're spread over about 5 different bundles, you end up paying for songs you don't want.
- Are those songs actually worth it?
- Too Close For Comfort - Is this worth it?

Goodness, sorry, I won't really be able to give you the answers you want.

The Big Night In DVD is a sod to get hold of because, I THINK, it wasn't actually ever released in the UK, so the only way is an Australian import. My advice would be to check eBay, though it's rare to find a bargain.

You can't buy the tracks from the bundles individually because they were bundled like that to boost his chart positions. Forgiveable at the time, but I think now the releases are long gone he should let people buy them individually. A few tracks made iTunes, such as a very very very good acoustic version of 'Casey' but not the demos.

My opinions about said tracks are thus:

Nothing in the Casey bundles are really worth it, the Casey, Walk Away and Words demos all have 0 plays in my iTunes.

The 'Who Would Have Thought' bundle is far more like it, the new track 'Breathless' is really lovely, and I actually prefer this demo version of 'The Only One' to the album version.

The 'Me Myself & I' bundle is similarly worth it, the acoustic version of On The Verge is very good, as is the demo of 'Every Little Thing', which was written with Eg White and is very very good.

The 'On The Verge...' bundle is sort of worth it, I don't think much at all of 'Ocean' but 'God Is In The Room' is a very solid song.

It's also worth checking out his physical CDs for other bonus tracks, in particular the live version of 'I Just Want You To Love Me' on one of the 'On The Verge' physicals, it is excellent, and iTunes for the bonus track 'Love Is In Everything' not included on the CD.

Too Close For Comfort I confess I've never watched, I saw what must have been an extended trailer sort of thing a while ago and was unimpressed, it seemed to show his worse side.

Thanks for that!

I think I'll get one or two bundles now and again so all in one go doesn't seem so crazy.

Yes, Big Night In is crazy. It's doing me nut in. I might just get over myself and splurge a bit.

I bought Too Close For Comfort as I got that slightly cheaper. But not cheap. I'm sure I'll enjoy it anyway. I like those kinda documentaries.

Is the Verge CD1 limited edition as well? I can only find that for like £15.00!!! I just want the b-side Fallen Angel and it's no where. I managed to get CD2 though. Thankfully I bought MM&I when it came out.

Thanks for all your help so far!

I wish I could answer your questions too. I just wanted to add that I wasn't aware that Verge CD1 was limited edition. It just might be a case of physical singles being a pain to get hold of nowadays. 'Fallen Angel' is great though'. I do feel your pain though, I'm trying to get hold of the physical CDs of 'Darkness' and I know I'm doomed!

Big Night In is probably worth it, not as good as the Time Machine tour, but then again, what is?

I really don't know what's going on with that Verge CD with 'Fallen Angel' on it, I had a look around for you but can't find it anywhere, there are a few sellers on musicstack.com you could chase up about it, there are plenty of Verge singles on there but precious few have a tracklisting. It was quite a big run of physical singles for the time (I remember my local HMV had obscene amounts, they were never going to sell any) so there should be some floating around, none of them were limited.

If you're a real Darren completist, I highly recommend the DVD version of Savage Garden's greatest hits (which wasn't released here) which includes all the SG videos and a really good documentary, copies are pretty freely available on eBay.

I might get that. I've ordered the Savage Garden albums and tour DVD so see how I get on with them. I like all the singles (I think) so I should enjoy them.

Yes, this Verge single is doing my nut in. I'll keep hunting. I'd like Popular and Darkness as well for the 3 b-sides but I can see myself having the same problems. I'm after all the b-sides from Tension and Delicate. Not so much Spin yet.

'acting like a mover shaker dancing to madonna then you kissed me...'
This is great. Can't convert the track to itunes though? sad face!

It's weird to hear a classic Madonna-era song with such strong vocals.

Madonna was so gorgeous. Look at those arms.
*sigh* Good times.

Like! I also enjoy his Prince cover... perhaps he should do a covers EP/album... Hmmm.

A covers EP would be great. He'd done "Ray Of Light" and "2 Hearts" and "Why" by Annie Lennox fairly recently. They could go on it.
